turns out that Sam was right and it was due to me being on MSSQL not MYSQL
I have since changed this and the install screen loads however…..
I am now stuck on;

It will not accept any password I enter into this step of the install
jeez ive setup up three of these so far and by far this has been the most troublesome

yes I know the name servers of my actual server as I had to input these into the config file

if it does the same thing again I will try what Debil says then if that still doesnt work I will get onto 1&1 (my host)

I know the file is 100% there

I now know that this is a problem with the theme I am using!
I assume that one of the php files is corrupt – any ideas which php file this would be and a possible fix?

I havent changed the format and the information i have found from WP doesnt help much wit hmy problem

but if you look on the archive section the boxes arent showing
could this be when i wrote the post the visual editor was on ?
