Yup, I already had in the code for excerpt box to be present on pages. So have spent the time adding in descriptions to the excerpt box which yoast and your plugin now picks up.

I guess its better to create unique descriptions than the plugins picking it up automatically from content text which I think plugins cant do as its dynamic content, so maybe have that in for a future update?

Hmm not sure where you picked that up from:

The text from the Yoast SEO meta description tag does not appear anywhere in your page, so I would assume it’s a custom description:

So it yoast does pick up the meta description. As you can see its added via yoast so its clearly picking it up.

Yup, i am aware of that i can enable excerpts for pages etc. HOWEVER as yoast was picking this automatically i wanted to ensure that part worked as it should rather than start to create additional work.

I have re enabled the comment for your plugin if that helps..

just seems like your plugin is broken somewhere and not pulling it in where as yoast seems to have no issues…

yes this still is an issue. Again the meta:description pulls in fine (via yoast seo) BUT not the og:description with your plugin…

your update doesn’t seem to have fixed this issue..

Confused as to why yoast can pull in the description but your plugin cannot? understand that there is a lot of html around text BUT this again doesn’t seem to effect the yoast plugin..

yup most definitely does include text. As you saw earlier it pulled through fine. Just not with your plugin..

I understand what you are saying about the paid premium plugin. However I would only use that for custom descriptions/excerpts.

At the moment wanting to use the default ones which aren’t pulling through with your plugin..

IF you look at the source code you can see that the meta description is pulled in but not the og:description for your plugin. however the theme we use has an opengraph option and enabling that does pull in the og:description..

I have turned on debug but cannot seem to find where the debug html is located.

disappointing that you have chosen to give such a useless answer.. BUT I guess I should have also confirmed steps I take initially MAYBE then the answer provided would have actually helped and provided a fix!

So we do set the featured image. we also set alternative images for G+ Facebook and twitter. everywhere posts fine APART from wordpress.com as per URL provided. It should pick up the featured image BUT it doesn’t.. if it doesn’t pick that up then it doesn’t even pick up the OG tagged images..

As you can see from the URL provided.. the image gets added by something totally weird.

SO to confirm WE DO SET images as per your post BUT it still does not work. Please can we get this fixed..

@ Rameez SOOMRO thats not a fix. Thats just removing it from the sitemap generation so post tags are NOT included in the sitemap. We want them included NOT excluded.

This should be a very easy fix for the developers. Cannot see why they are not fixing this issue @yoast

The posts with images are using the older version of the plugin: Plugin Version: 3.3.9 (API Version: 2.15.43) and the ones without image are using the Plugin Version: 3.4.2 (API Version: 2.15.43) which doesn’t show images.

So CLEARLY something is broken here… No settings have been changed and again they post to google+: https://plus.google.com/117695188203644881515/posts AND Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/UmbrellaWebStudio with NO issues using the featured image AND those images can be called directly OR via a proxy and even embedded on a totally different site with NO issues…

That’s clearly incorrect. Prior to the issue with Google+ not posting images the plugin posted images to twitter correctly. Here are 2 examples:

You can clearly see that posts have the images attached AND links back to the sites.

However after the latest plugin updates this no longer happens and the error message is given.

It posts to Google+: https://plus.google.com/117695188203644881515/posts AND Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/UmbrellaWebStudio with images no issues and we can manually access the featured image via direct URL in a normal browser AND in anonymous proxy.

So it is broken and your answer doesn’t really apply…
