I got user registration working had to adapt the functions.php to work within the constraints of my webhost:

I’m having the same problem. My notifications on comments posts are being sent (same domain to same domain), but user registration doesn’t produce any email even when I sign a test user up with a valid email address on the same domain.

I got the comment notification working sorta, new posts that recieve comments I get an email, old posts made prior to upgrade to 1.5 I do not recieve email.

I also can not seem to get user registration to work correctly. No email is sent when I register a test user or request a password of a current user. I have tried the CVS version of wp-register.php but the problem still persists.
