  • Thanks Jos. I followed your advice and found that the issue wasn’t with the A_I but with the PRIMARY key. In the xx_postmeta table the PRIMARY key was somehow assigned to post_id. I changed it to meta_id and voila! Everything works as it should! I got my page to add new posts.

Thank you so much for your help! Have a good day.

Hope this bit will be helpful for people facing the same issue.

    Hello Jos,

Hope you’re well. I have the exact same problem as OP down to the line numbers in the error message. I have tried everything possible including switching off/on plugins and themes, updating core files, rollback, etc.

And yes, I recently moved my site from Bluehost to Hostinger and this issue seems to have developed since then. Hostinger support is clueless. As per your suggestion I enabled AUTO_INCREMENT for the PRIMARY key in the following tables using PHPmyAdmin.

    xx_options, xx_posts, xx_postmeta

The issue still persists however. Could you suggest which other tables need A_I for their PRIMARY key? Or something else that needs to be done?

What exactly could be the that is breaking the post function here?

    Thanks a ton!

Thank you Jacob for the prompt and clear response. I fixed this by including child albums in the parent album which was according to my requirements, but now I have a different problem.

I have the parent album cover occupying 100% of width of the page. When I click on that parent album cover, the two child albums open up in a “lightbox overlay” (with a ‘x’ on the top right corner) situated over the page instead of appearing in the page. Also, the two covers are located on the top right and bottom left of what seems to be a 2×2 box (like the number 2 on a dice) as if they have excess width. Subsequent photos also open in the same lightbox-like overlay, and when I close the overlay, the original parent cover seems to have shrunk to 50% of the original page width.

Could you help please? Much appreciated. I can send you screenshots if you could direct me where.

    Thanks

    Hello

@ivhero Thank you tons for that reply! So here is the lowdown.

(The issue still persists, clings on stubbornly despite all that I’ve done.

.htaccess: This was my prime suspect too, but even after careful scrutiny, found nothing wrong in it. To be doubly sure, I deleted everything in it, replaced it with just the standard redirect, then nothing, then deleted it entirely. Still the same.

I then changed the URLs to https and the entire site went down, so I changed it back, there and in the wp-config file.

I ran a replace on the DB using the tool you provided (great piece of work!), there were quite a few replacements but the problem still did not go away!

So, what if the problem really was with the SSL? So I deleted the SSL certificate from cPanel. Voila! I got access to the admin area and the URL of the homepage is now

https://24coaches.com/https:/24coaches.com/ (The first one is http)

So, now what? So there might be some problem lying hidden in some PHP file somewhere? So I replaced all the files in the WP install other than wp-config, wp-admin and wp-content over FTP with fresh versions from WordPress 4.7.2.

    No change!

Also, activated/deactivated plugins multiple times, cleared caches/cookies innumerable times but no avail. Which is when I noticed another very strange occurrence! The homepage works perfectly well when viewed from mobiles/tablets!!!

Could it be a caching issue? I tried opening the website from several desktops, laptops, but it does not open! But does on mobile devices on the same WLAN!!

    So, the issue:
    Home page opens to https://24coaches.com/https:/24coaches.com/
All pages on the site other than the homepage open correctly.
But on mobile devices all pages work correctly.

    I’ve done everything conceivable.

    Anyone?

    Thanks, ~vadakkus

It is breaking themes on all my sites: The footer and parts of the sidebars keep disappearing. Had to deactivate the plugin.

    Anyone?

Hi, My host is Bluehost and the PHP version being used is 5.4.24.

If it is host specific, let me know if I can ask them to change something to rectify this.

    Thanks!

I wrote to them again and this time I got this:

we are currently a lot of issues with the cloud sites servers. Our admins are working to get it back up as soon as possible.
We understand that this can cause a lot of inconvenience so it is of the highest priority for us to get this resolved.
<asking me to get onto CloudFlare>
Thank you for understanding. unfortunately, there is nothing i or you can do right now other than wait for our admins to fix it, if you just want to complain you can email us at [email protected]. this is the best way to talk to our managers.

I saw everyone on WordPress singing praises of Bluehost and decided to go with it. This is my third host after Hostgator and BigRock. I guess there is nothing I can do but sit back and be sad.

There is no error per se, the widget is appearing where it should be but instead of “blocks” of months appearing, a list of months and years appear. You can check it out on my site: 24 Coaches

It is still broken after today’s update to Version 0.9.91. WP version 4.0.

Thank you! I was facing the same problem! Instead of deleting the .htaccess outright, you can also just delete the # Better WP Security prt of the file only.

I have the same problem too. As per the error report, all URLs (even individual blog posts) on my website seem to have feeds.feedburner.com/Fottams (which is my feed address) appended to them at the end as per the Googlebot, and it tries to crawl them, throwing up large number of 404 errors as these pages do not exist. Incidentally, this started happening after I installed the “All In One SEO Pack” plugin. I have disabled that now, but the errors keep on piling up. What do I do? Please help. I am not facing this issue with any of my other WordPress sites.

    My site: https://fottam.com

    Please help? Thanks! ??
