That’s when I realized that during the setup phase of the ERE plugin, not all pages were created- eg. the advanced research page was not created, so I cannot select it in the dropdown menu I mentioned above.

I assume then that the advanced search tool is malfunctioning because i don’t have an advanced search tool page, but I don’t know how to fix the problem.
