For some reason the new version of the theme defaults to exerpts… and the theme overrides the “reading” settings on the dashboard. Change to full text under the atahualpa theme options >> post & pages >> configure excepts >> posts or excerpts on HOME page? >> full posts.

Same problem here on multiple computers with three different WordPress sites… only in Chrome. It happens about 50% of the time, and I can not detect a pattern as to when. I love Chrome and I am not willing to switch default browser so I deal with it but it is VERY frustrating!!

Solutions ???

*Edit: I noticed that this only happens when there is a video posted in the blog, it handles photos and text ok. When there is a video in the post (say an embedd from YouTube) then the dropdown disappears behind the video.

Fix anyone?

I experience the same problem on one of the blogs I administer. Problem is evident on the dropdown menu for Music >> Music Collection (he is trying to add the whole alphabet page by page here).

The hosting provider fixed the permission issues I was having and I could delete the files and do a clean install.

Still looks good. Perhaps it was fixed in WordPress 2.9. I will change this to resolved. ??

It did not solve it 100% for me either… it works most of the time, but once in a while I still have to replace the page with a new one (I keep a backup in dreamweaver) because I can no longer edit the page… really bites since it screws up analytics… but what can you do?

Any permanent fixes to this??

Ok, sorry I missed this thread when I was searching on this… They have talked about the same problem and offered up a fix, but I do not know “where” to put the fix Otto suggests… if I put it on the very top of the wp-config doc the code string shows up as text on the website… I am not good at php… ideas?

Otto42: Quick fix: Add this to your wp-config.php (at the top):
ini_set(‘pcre.recursion_limit’,20000000);
ini_set(‘pcre.backtrack_limit’,10000000);

I wanted to do Ottos quick fix but where to put it?? I put the code he posted at the very top of the wp-config.php document, but obviously it was not supposed to go there as the code string showed up as text on the blog… so where does it go? Running WordPress 2.8.6.

I just had the same problem. I wanted to list a music collection with 4000 albums, just a simple list with artist, album and year. I made a simple html table in dreamweaver and copied it into the html editor. The page published fine, but when I went to edit it the editor field was gone… Ideas as to why?

I really do not know what is is related to. Honestly! I has corrected itself again (temporarily no doubt) in all 3 browsers I use, even though I have not changed ANYTHING. Same browsers, same versions of everything, no new plugins… Oh well, I guess I should just enjoy it while it lasts. ??

No solution still??

Mine has never worked (1 yr)…. and I know there are links to my blog. Running the latest WordPress 2.8.6. now, but still nothing.
