In reply to: [Awesome Flickr Gallery] Awesome Flickr Gallery Error – SSL is requiredUpdate it manually. Since your galleries are hosted on Flickr your images won’t be affected. If you did any tweaks yourself in the code you will have to do them again. Otherwise the configuration is from the AFG control panel as before. You will also have to make sure your web hosting provider has updated the CA certificate otherwise you will get an SSL message (as above).

In reply to: [Awesome Flickr Gallery] Will AFG work when Flickr changes to HTTPS?BTW I found titles on Flickr are also pulled over despite disabling them in AFG.
Some other thoughts: maybe for the next update an option to disable “View on Flickr” might be useful. And might the text font at the bottom when viewing in Highslide be a little neater like with Colourbox?
Otherwise,it’s by far the best Flickr plugin I’ve found.

In reply to: [Awesome Flickr Gallery] Will AFG work when Flickr changes to HTTPS?Okay, thanks. In the meantime I’ll maybe shift the Descriptions to a comment on Flickr. Or something…

In reply to: [Awesome Flickr Gallery] Awesome Flickr Gallery Error – SSL is requiredRonan’s got a new version out 3.5.0. This didn’t appear on my WordPress dashboard. You can manually download and update AFG 3.5.0 from here – https://github.com/ronakg/awesome-flickr-gallery-plugin/archive/3.5.0.zip

In reply to: [Awesome Flickr Gallery] Will AFG work when Flickr changes to HTTPS?I can confirm that Version 3.5.0 works on WordPress 3.5 and Highslide is there.
One slight issue is that although I’ve disabled photo descriptions in AFG, I find that it is still pulling the description from Flickr (see photo 11 on my above link). I’ve cleared the AFG cache and my WordPress cache and also my browser cache, but it’s still there.

In reply to: [Awesome Flickr Gallery] Will AFG work when Flickr changes to HTTPS?No, I downloaded Version 3.3.5 from the WordPress dashboard to replace 3.3.6 which I downloaded maybe from your Flickr page?! a few months ago. 3.3.5 is the only version that appears on the WordPress dashboard at my end.
Thanks for the link to 3.5.0. I will give it go and report back.

In reply to: [Awesome Flickr Gallery] Will AFG work when Flickr changes to HTTPS?Here’s the gallery page: https://kevinallen.photography/blog/
I was running AFG 3.3.6 and it ran for over a year until I got the error just a couple of days ago. I’ve now switched to AFG 3.3.5 and that works fine, although there’s no option to use Highslide. From my WordPress v3.5 installation only AFG 3.3.5 is available.Where do I download AFG 3.5.0, and will it run on WordPress 3.5 ?

In reply to: [Awesome Flickr Gallery] Awesome Flickr Gallery Error – SSL is requiredUpdate:
I got AFG working again by uninstalling v3.3.6 and rolling back to v3.3.5 which appears to work fine. You lose the option for the Highslide Gallery which was in 3.3.6, but ColourBox is more or less the same. Maybe Ronan updated 3.3.5 as the stable release to cope with the anticipated new https change on Flickr but didn’t update the lesser-known 3.3.6 release.I assume that you will still need your hosting provider to enable curl ca root certificate in PHP.
Hope that helps others.

In reply to: [Awesome Flickr Gallery] Will AFG work when Flickr changes to HTTPS?I don’t think this issue is fully resolved yet. Something has just stopped working anyhow with version 3.3.6 that I had installed and working perfectly for over a year. Now I get the message
Awesome Flickr Gallery – SSL is required
I had the tech support at my webhosting provider look at it and they have:
“enabled curl ca root cert in PHP. Please ask your developer to set “CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER” to true in coding and put “CURLOPT_CAINFO” path as per the output from above URL.”Assuming this is the right thing to do, how do you go about doing this? Presumably, this affects everyone using AFG.

In reply to: [Awesome Flickr Gallery] Awesome Flickr Gallery Error – SSL is requiredAlso getting this error. I guess because Flick has switched to https instead of http. AFG was supposed to have been updated to cope with the change. My web hosting provider enabled curl ca root cert in PHP, and suggested the developer set “CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER” to true in coding and put “CURLOPT_CAINFO” path as per the output from above URL.
Not sure how to fully do this. Anyone?
