Hi, thank you for assisting with this. I disabled all plugins as part of my troubleshooting so I am quite sure it’s not another plugin. But it’s quite possible that it’s my theme. I will do more investigation on my end and report here.

Thank you, but this tweak did not work for me. Same behavior – both plugins work fine with Yoast deactivated and don’t when Yoast is activated.

Good to know. The new editor is borderline unusable so I can’t use it. My solution for now is to turn off Yoast, write a post, publish, then turn on Yoast and address SEO warnings. Needless to say, this is painful. I hope this gets resolved in the near future.

Disable Yoast and it will work. That’s what happened in my case at least. These two plugins are incompatible right now and one (or both) need to be fixed.
