sadish, you’re brilliant. That did the trick. I modified slightly, getting the info to appear in a list, removing content, and replacing with a call to custom field for a page description, but that did it.

I’ve searched and searched, and can’t find a thing. That’s why I was saying I’m even willing to be pointed to a commercial plugin <shrug> I am not asking for commercial developers to say “me me me”, just wondering if anyone has found something, somewhere. But quite honestly, I suspect that it simply doesn’t exist. No worries.

It should not “completely destroy” your theme. Your div should be closed, I dont’ know if you closed it. If there is no text in the div, try adding a  . Don’t forget to add a height and width in your css declaration.

try assigning “no-repeat” to your background image.
As for having it over the background, try the separate div approach I suggested.

I think what you’re after is going to happen if you remove
display: inline;

Of course, there’s a LOT of styling that is unecessary there. You might want to simply remove all styling and start from scratch.

Another way to do it if you are already using a body background image is to have a div that you apply the background image to and absolute position top left or top right depending on what you are after.

Yes, of course, if the DB is still there, it’s fine. The problem sometimes, however, with just just putting the files back in is that you may be missing plugin files, you have to make sure you have all your plugins back where they belong, etc. And theme files.

I know *I* would never get away with just “plopping” the WP files back in my directory and editing wp-config. But then I take my own backups on a regular basis ??

Alternatively, ask your host to restore your site from their most recent back up (check that it *is* recent). Most hosts do weekly backups, so unless you’ve got a crappy host, or you’ve made loads of changes recently, you should be fine with that approach.
