Thanks but WP added this feature since they shipped Gutenberg so I stopped working on this plugin.

Sorry, the latest version of Gutenberg supports category filtering out of the box so it made this plugin obsolete. I don’t think you need this anymore if you’re on the latest WP version at least.

Thanks for the suggestion, lowering the priority worked.

Looking at the WP 5.2 it seems like this is part of the core now so I think this plugin is a bit irrelevant now.

Thanks for you comments, I looked into updating this plugin when Gutenberg was starting getting developed but even after it got released there was no way to hooking into the “categories” block in the same way that you could before without hacking core files.

Maybe this changed recently, I’ll have a look and see if I can update this to work on the latest WP version.

Hey, I don’t think this is possible unfortunately and a bit beyond the scope of this plugin I’m afraid.

Hey, the plugin works automatically in the backend so it will add a search field at the top of the Categories box so you can filter them and select them more easily (see screenshots in the plugin page).

So no there are no shortcodes, settings or things like that.

I have tried to implement this plugin using Gutenberg but unfortunately as of version 3.6 there’s no way to customise the built in sidebar blocks without hacking the core files. I’m keeping a closer look as this is definitely important but there’s no easy way to do it for now.

Thanks! I though about adding that functionality but it’s been kind of tricky I’ll keep it in mind for a future update though!

I just tested using the latest version of ACF and it works fine, can you provide more information?
