I’ve had similar symptoms to this in the past.

Are you by chance using the Wordfence security plugin with ‘modern 2fa’ enabled for admin users ? Apparently there is an incompatibility with TML and that, which causes the 2fa to not work for the admins and then non-admins also have to click login twice !
e.g.

TML do have their own 2fa extension, but of course it’s not free.

I see someone has now bumped up the ‘Tested up to:’ to 5.9.3 on

I also notice that

has been updated in January 2022 to say ‘tested up to WP 5.9’
but https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/classic-editor/ still says only tested up to 5.8.4

it seems that tech support for this plugin has gone dry ??

Will the supported WP version for Admin Columns now be bumped up to 5.9.x ?
Still showing 5.8.4 on https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/codepress-admin-columns/ at the moment.
