There was an internal issue that was resolved as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, the issue was unavoidable and a workaround could not be created quickly enough so the focus was to resolve the root problem as quickly as possible.

Unfortunately, there never was a WYSIWYG component to the video plugin, what you will see is a [vidavee id=##] tag. This shows up, or more accurately should show up, in both the visual editor and raw editor.

There was a problem with the 2.6 update which made the library disappear and formatting disappear from the lightbox version of the plugin. If you still want to use the plugin, the new 0.30 version should take care of this issue. Alternatively you can go into the plugin settings page, uncheck the “Use admin tab integration” option and you will now see an old style (circa wp 1.3) iframe where you can select and upload videos.

an oversight on my part. there was a limit in the flash uploader of 512mb, this was changed to 1gb.

theres a big orange button on the plugin’s page (https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/wp-vidavee-film-manager/) that says “download”, unless there is a server outage, clicking this will down load the plugin all zipped up from svn

yes, I didn’t update an icon.gif file properly to be caught by the svn. My mistake. This has been rectified and v28 of the plugin now has the proper icon.gif file installed.

The current version of wp-vidavee plugin is not yet compatible with 2.5… I am working on this.

I will have an update on the server that allows reporting of a bad asset to start a review process in the next few days.

you will get “zero length asset” as an error code when an asset could not be transcoded for whatever reason… in this case, the codec that the file was created with is a commercial codec or proprietary codec.

I’ve included a function that you can call from your wordpress template in the new version of the plugin. this allows you to embed a call directly in the sidebar with a simple php call. Read the faq/readme.txt for a quick howto.

version 0.20 of the plugin has a very very very beta override of the the_excerpt filter available.

You’re right, most of the meat of the plugin is remotely hosted. The plugin is purely a front end to the vidavee back end servers.

the plugin at https://wordpress.vidavee.com/wpvidavee_latest.zip is outdated.

since the search/replace happens on the “the_content” filter…. it’s not easy to put a player into the side bar.

However, there is a workaround. If you put a video into a temporary post, you can view that source and look for a script tag which will contain the remote call to the vidavee servers. You can then copy that code and paste it into your sidebar.

Originally the plugin wasn’t designed to be housed in a subfolder in the wp-contents/plugins directory. The fix was to move the wp-plugins.php file out of the zip folder and into your wp-contents/plugins directory.

The new version, 0.18, should fix this issue. (actually was fixed in 0.16 but due to other circumstances, this update has been delayed until now).
