  • I have to agree with the OP – seems like a waste even installing as it adds really no additional features. At least none a moderate to advanced WP user would need.

    I know you folks have to make money, and posting crippled or barebone plugins is an awesome marketing method, but this one really seems a waste of time even installing. I’m so put off I would rather look at someplace like CodeCanyon.

    1st thx for the quick reply. 2nd I’m using a Rockettheme, which uses their plugin RokSprocket to display slides, tabs and other dynamic content. These typically contain posts, which I am trying to exclude because when displayed on a regular page look horrible. Additionally search results show all the shortcodes.

    I’ll give your debugging trick a go tomorrow morning – USA PST here.

    Vasyl it works and I like the new UI, but…the “Plugins” menu is now visible to the restricted group Editor and “Appearance” is blocked.

    Also even though I have Screen Options “WordPress News” and “Latest from ButlerBlog” restricted the checkboxes still appear – the Dashboard widgets are not visible, which is good, but again, the checkboxes still appear under Screen Options.

    Thanks.

    Frank thanks for the feedback – will continue to use on some sites in lieu of your updates.

    Happy Holidays.

    This is a great plugin but the author is showing it compatible only up to: 3.6-beta3.

    With WP3.8 released a couple days ago I would consider another solution that shows WP3.8 compatibility, such as Advanced Access Manager.

    @ben – I wasn’t implying your folks should starve for the rest of us. The pricing plan @ $99/yr is not competitive when I can hop over to Envato and pick up a better working product for not half that, but less than half, and one-time! Consider changing it to $69 with all the features + 1 year of support and then $39/yr thereafter for support. Most of us would use it on one site anyways, no one starves and your ‘support’ fee keeps customers around a bit more.

    Regarding autoresponders, this does not work for someone like me – I have no mechanism for newsletter sign-ups – all my newsletters are promotional and are sent at various times throughout the year. So if I send a promo today and pick up several new client email addresses over the next few weeks, I have to duplicate that promo each time just to send it again! Clunky. You already have something in place that can probably be tweaked – the “Send Preview” function when creating a newsletter. Stop locking down an already sent newsletter and change that button to something like, “Send Again” so people like me can put in a single email address.

    Fix/add that feature and I’ll be more inclined to use the free version, otherwise I’m better off using your composer (which I mentioned is great), copy/paste that work into MyMail and use his built-in features for stat tracking.

    Great! Anyone want to guess where BenRacicot’s php file should go???

    Some folks are not full-fledged Web developers (probably just Web designers) so a Plugin Author’s instructions can seem a bit frustrating and/or confusing. So here’s what you folks need to do:

    As Frank instructed:

    Go to ADMINIZED > GLOBAL OPTIONS

    1. In the first box add “WordPress UPDATE” or similar – whatever you want to the label to be.
    2. In the adjacent box add the DIV class for the update notification bar, which is “.update-nag”.
    3. Click the “Update Options” button.

    Go back to GLOBAL OPTIONS and your WordPress UPDATE selection should now be visible!

    Nevermind – got my plugins crossed.

    @ jrf thanks – please give me a couple days to mark this resolved as I am in the middle of two projects with no time to evaluate this new version.

    @ Dax thanks too – I will most likely take up jrf’s suggestion of changing the dots. Overall I cannot find any good reason to use them over say a check mark and a dash symbol – relying on color contrast only is never a good thing.

    That worked thanks!

    Maybe, as an update, you could give us a wee bit more options, one being a pop-up instead of linking to a page. That way the registration page stays in place. I know I can set the target as blank but would prefer not to force open too many windows.

    Also, on your Website the shortcodes for code/copy/print is missing a ‘copy’ button. Tested in FF and IE.

    If you could send me the changed file that would be awesome! Or post instructions – whatever is easier for you.

    Thank you!

    I appreciate you acknowledging this.

    As a suggestion, just because we are visual creatures, please consider changing each colored dot to a more distinctive icon, perhaps a single color check-mark for “best,” dash for “okay,” and a X for “bad.” I did not realize until showing someone who is color-blind the dots meant nothing to her because they all looked the same!

    And of course while waiting for your fix she had no way of availing herself of a tool-tip because they all showed “NA.”

    Thanks!

    Okay figured out I need to change all underscores with hyphens but now I have a + on both sides of my topic header. So for example;

    + How do I pay for your services +

    I know you are limited to what you can suggest, but it would be cool if after I fixed the double + signs we could get a + before click and a – after click.

    Thanks!

    I added your block of code:

    #faq_block .single_faq .expand_title:before,
    #faq_block .single_faq .expand_title:after {
    	content: " + ";
    	font-weight: normal;
    }

    After adding the code several times without result before I realized there is no DIV ID “faq_block” I found “faq-block” with Firebug, but even with this correction to the code I see no + sign. Additionally using Firebug I don’t even see the code block I added to my custom.css.
