I have been using the Agenda View and a simple addition if an tag around the title (at around line 40) in the agenda.twig file was sufficient. For example,

I hope the developers consider this graceful degradation option rather than a complete fail when JS is not loaded or errors are encountered. For now, I have added to the core vortex theme in my installs but will consider adding a new customized theme if necessary in the future.

After some additional troubleshooting, I have found that things improve by including in the footer all the JS created by the render_js function. I am continuing my testing but this makes me believe there is a conflict in the order in which JS is loaded so the priority may have to change for the ai1ec scripts to make it less fragile
