I’ve created the custom template already and have excluded the category from the main page.

What I need is something similar to what the aforementioned plugin does, but to link to the most recent entry in story category as the actual category page is going to serve as an archive page for that category and show more “chapters” per page.

This definately does what I want – I just need to work out how to get it to let me use an image as a link now… LOL

Your 3 points were correct.

The category I am “separating”, fo the sake of explanation, can be called “story”.

“Story” has it’s own category-page styling, and there is a link to the “story” category on the blog. I also need to generate link to a page which shows the most recent “episode” in the story – like wp generates pages for all individual entries. What I definately DON’T want is to put them on the blog homepage :o)

The hard way to get this link into the template would be to update it every time the new episode got added, but I figured wp might be able to automagically generate the code somehow?

Have I just made things even less clear?

Am I to take it this is not possible? ??

It’s hosted one someone else’s servers. I did think that it could be time change thing but it’s happened more than once now and at different times of the day :-/

It just seems really odd that it’s actually *changing* the time of the entry _after_ it’s published. The only reason I noticed it the second time was because a friend asked me where the video I had just posted had gone…

This isn’t the only wp install on my account so I’m going to get the person who uses the other one to check as well.

Ok found the problem(s) (fyi for anyone else who has issues)

1) Comvatars plugin wasn’t playing nicely. It’s gone now and everything displays good ?? (I couldn’t tell you why though)

2) I also discovered that sk2 and ajaxy comments don’t play well together. Installed askimet instead and now it’s all smiles and laughter here ??

Ok scrub that last though, I’ve looked through the functions.php and it only seems relevant to calls that Kubrick makes…..

Not touched the functions.php, never ever used a functions.php file in any theme I have created before – or theme I’ve used apart from Kubrick. But I’ll give it a try adding it.
