In reply to: [Shapely] woocommerce updates errorNo news from the shapely developers? Are they intending to update the theme sometime? The description says the theme is compatible with Woocommerce, but that is not the case anymore.
Hi Kim, yes, it’s perfect now. We didn’t realize we could hide the preview. Many thanks!

In reply to: [Polylang] Language switcher shows gibberish hoover textThanks, Chouby. I’ll try asking the theme authors and applying the temp fix by removing the flags. Thank you!

In reply to: [Shapely] woocommerce updates errorHi there,
the same thing happened to my friend’s website. The error showed incompatibility with code from the Shapely theme. We had to restore a full back-up copy for the site to work again.
Hoping Shapely will update the theme soon and make it compatible with the new woocommerce, but until there’s a theme update, we’ll try to stay with the old woo.

In reply to: [Loco Translate] Custom vs System locationSeeing the 28% progress is ok by me, I’m more concerned about the system location being “unsafe” and my translations getting lost after an update.
I was wondering if I did something wrong when I copied my translations to custom, and that is causing the issues. That’s why I thought about doing it again and wanted to confirm the settings for the copy.
It’s working (from system) for now. I’ll keep an eye on it and try the suggestions if needed.

In reply to: [WP Recipe Maker] Translations not showing after updateSweet, I have Polylang. And the custom templates will not be affected by plugin updates, right? Thanks.

In reply to: [Loco Translate] Custom vs System locationI didn’t translate the admin strings because I can do that part in English. I translated the strings that show on the translated page, like “Jump to recipe”, “Jump to video”, “Print Recipe”, and the recipe labels, such as “Course”, “Cuisine”, “Servings”, “Author”, etc., and those are the ones I noticed the issue with.
Right now, when I go to loco translate/plugins/wp recipe maker, I have 2 copies of the translations, one in the system location and one in custom. It’s for Brazilian Portuguese, and it shows only 28% translated. Should I try to delete the custom file and make another copy to ensure I have all the correct settings in place?
In this case, I know to choose the custom location, then do I copy “target” or “string”? and check or uncheck the use as template for sync?
Thank you for looking into this!

In reply to: [WP Recipe Maker] Translations not showing after updateHi there, since my blog is bilingual, can I use the edited template only for the translated (non-English) posts? Also, are all the labels on the template editable? Thanks again for all the help and info.

In reply to: [Loco Translate] Custom vs System location@timwhitlock Yes, I had read the FAQ suggested. That’s when I figured the translations were loading from the system location and asked @brechtvds to check on his plugin. I could not try the other suggestions on the FAQ because I’m not savvy enough with code and don’t want to screw up something else (or suggestions are for plugin authors).
I noticed the issue with the translations in the past couple of days, but it may have been there for longer, as I don’t check how my posts are displaying all the time.
Something has changed (probably in the past week) because it was working fine before, but I don’t know what it is. I checked with @brechtvds and now am checking with Loco. Other bundles have also been updated during this time, but I don’t know which ones to check. I’m a basic-level WP user and don’t go around tweaking code, customizing themes, etc.
If you can suggest something else I can check, I’d appreciate it. Many thanks.

In reply to: [WP Recipe Maker] Translations not showing after updateOne of the checks they suggest is to move the translations from the custom to the system folder, which is what I did to make it work now, and they say: “If this location (system) works, then the problem may be in the theme/plugin that loads the file.” (hence my checking with you for WPRM)
I’ve started a new support thread with them
https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/custom-vs-system-location/
Hope they reply with some additional info or investigation on their end.Thank you!

In reply to: [WP Recipe Maker] Translations not showing after updateI have the same plugin versions you tested, so that means it’s probably something on my end then. Oh boy, no idea where to start troubleshooting…
I didn’t open a ticked with Loco because they specifically say on their pinned author post: “I do not provide help with the problem of TRANSLATIONS NOT DISPLAYING on your website.”
That sounds like a hard stop to even ask the question. ?? So I was looking through their FAQs and help pages to see if I found enough info by myself. Not sure if I can tell WordPress where to look for the translations(to make sure it goes to the custom location), but will see if I can figure it out.
Again, I really appreciate you looking into this, and now I understand a bit better how this works. Thank you!

In reply to: [WP Recipe Maker] Translations not showing after updateSorry, I’m just trying to figure it out, but you know your plugin and I understand the issue is elsewhere. It could be something that I did or didn’t do with my settings. Not sure where to start.
As for Loco, there’s a pinned topic for TRANSLATIONS NOT SHOWING
https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/translations-not-showing-4/Which I read, and then found additional info on their FAQs
https://localise.biz/wordpress/plugin/faqs/not-showing
https://localise.biz/wordpress/plugin/faqs/custom-folderThanks so much for replying and trying to help. I really appreciate it.

In reply to: [WP Recipe Maker] Translations not showing after updateI don’t how WPRM accesses the translations, but it seems the plugin is able to access the data saved in the system location (languages/plugins/wp-recipe-maker-pt_BR.po) but is not accessing the file in the custom location (languages/loco/plugins/wp-recipe-maker-pt_BR.po), which is the one I had everything at. I copied the translations to the system location and for now they show on my posts (but will probably be lost again when WP is updated).
Loco says to check if the plugins are calling “load_plugin_textdomain”. I don’t know how to do that myself.
I wonder if there’s a setting on WPRM that tells it where to look for the text, that should point to the custom location first (and it’s not right now)?
Thank you!
