@nvg, yes this is correct. Facebook Pages only account does not have a Facebook Profile. Hence it cannot be used to signup at LinksAlpha.com. However, if you signup using your Google or Twitter account, you should be able to add your Facebook Pages.
New release of the plugin takes care of these issues. Thank you for reporting.

In reply to: [Social Buttons by LinksAlpha] Manual placement on only one page …I think there is some plugin that you might be using that is converting html code into html entities. Please try disabling each of your plugins one by one to check which one fixes the issue
