In reply to: WordPress in its own folderthanks for the quick reply esmi
So if I install in a folder /blog/ all pages will stay the same just the posts would have a prefix /blog/
So mysite.com/about/ would stay the same whereas mysite.com/2013/06/post
would change to mysite.com/blog/2013/06/post?How could I then access the blog posts? I couldn’t have a page called mysite.com/blog/ could I?

Thanks for the feedback, I will certainly look into that plugin.
The idea was that the site is for members and each will have an extended profile page, but some will also be ‘group leaders’ and have a page for their group, its these pages that i need some content to be non-editable (by them but by admin) and some to be editable by them. Sort of split page.

In reply to: recover admin / password via core filesYou could recover the user from the database if you have access.
Under user table, change the email address of the superuser (admin) to your email address and request a ‘forgotten password’ from the wp-admin login page.
Use the same superuser name (admin probably) and use your password sent.

In reply to: API key for wordpress self hosted accounts? With a self-hosted WordPress blog you can retrieve the same API key you used for Akismet plugin under Akismet configuration.
If not, sign up for a API key at https://www.wordpress.com, just sign up but don’t have a hosted blog. An API key will be generated.

In reply to: Public and private blogThe link talks about having the two installs in different sub folders, what I really wanted to know is it ok to install one WP in https://www.mydomain.com and the second in https://www.mydomain.com/members/ without causing any conflicts?
