Does anyone know why Google Webmaster Tools is flagging my posts for “HTML Improvements” due to this? I believe having the shortened URL redirect to the date permalink is a standard feature of WordPress. I see this very often in other WordPress blogs.
I.e. When you enter https://sitename.com/posttitle, it will redirect to https://sitename.com/date/posttitle if your permalink is structured in the date/posttitle format.
Is it something that Google will just automatically remove in the feature or is there something that needs to be done for them to remove?

In reply to: Duplicate Title Tag due to multiple permalinksI don’t think it’s an issue with the theme. What seems to be happening is that Google recognizes the two link structures are separate
https://sitename.com/date/post title
https://sitename.com/post titleIn most cases for wordpress sites, if you enter just https://sitename.com/post title it will redirect to the permalink which is https://sitename.com/date/post title
Genesis or not, this is applicable for most wordpress setups. For my case, google seems to be recognizing the two as separate which may be why it recognizes the titles of the two pages (which are bound to be the same) as duplicates.

In reply to: Duplicate Title Tag due to multiple permalinksI’m not sure whether it’s a problem with Yoast as it doesn’t give an option to toggle between permalink structure. That’s all in the General Settings.
