In reply to: [Postie] POP3-SSL connection issue on Bluehostfoack, Bluehost only has port 995 open for incoming connections by default. To get that port open for outgoing connections you would need to get a dedicated IP and request that port 995 be opened for outgoing connections.

In reply to: [W3 Total Cache] plugin creates 400.000 – 500.000 files within days!!!That happens when the plugin stores all of the cached files and doesn’t properly delete them. Check your setting and see how long it is set to cache objects. Make sure it’s not a ridiculously long time. Also check your garbage collection time. If it’s only set to delete expired cache once a month, it could easily build up files.

In reply to: Transferring from WP.com to WP.org using BlueHost – HELPHere are some steps on how to change your name servers at Wild West Domains. You’ll have to scroll to the Name Servers section. https://products.secureserver.net/guides/managingdomains.pdf
You’ll want to use the “Custom Name Servers” option and put in Bluehost’s name servers.

In reply to: Transferring from WP.com to WP.org using BlueHost – HELPYes, Wild West Domains controls where your domain’s name servers are pointing. They should point your name servers to ns1.bluehost.com and ns2.bluehost.com.
Bluehost uses the Mojo Marketplace as a tool to install WordPress, so when you are initially trying to install WordPress, it will be normal to go there. Bluehost has some steps on how to install WordPress using the Mojo Marketplace here: https://my.bluehost.com/hosting/help/wordpress
Don’t watch the video in that article, its a little outdated. Just use the step by step instructions.

In reply to: Admin Pages BlankI have seen this before. If you’re on an older version of WordPress, go to this file: /wp-admin/includes/screen.php
When you’re in that file, search for “self::” and delete the “self::” every time you see it. Save the file and try your dashboard again. It should be fixed.

In reply to: Transferring from WP.com to WP.org using BlueHost – HELPI see that your domain carolatic.com is currently pointed to ns1.wordpress.com and ns2.wordpress.com, which means it won’t pull up any of the files that are currently on Bluehost. You will need to contact your domains registrar (Wild West Domains, wildwestdomains.com) and get your name servers pointed to ns1.bluehost.com and ns2.bluehost.com. The change can take anywhere from 4-24 to completely take effect. Once that happens, you will be able to visit the site that is hosted on Bluehost’s servers.
After that you can import the file that you downloaded from WordPress.com.
