that is interesting, as this was/is not the normal behavior, at least for me. Normally whenever you choose an image-size, the crop-box with the maximum centered size should have been automatically drawn. Was that not the case for you before? Or do you mean, once you clicked outside the crop-box you could draw you own box.

In the last release i changed to a more stable library for visualize the crop region. Before every other plugin may have influenzed the way, the crop region is shown. Now its more capsulated and secure – code wise.

@katrienmoore thank you for investigating. That is so strange – i only can assume that this has something to to with the frontend or the crop library. I will have an look into.

I can not fix that for you, but i guess this has something to do with the time your theme do register the image sizes. You may have a look when the “thegem_image_sizes” function is called. Normaly this should be done in an “after_setup_theme” action, as stated in the documentation.

In the last week another user reported of an bug where another image plugin incorrectly set the image metadata on upload. So he has to deactivate the other plugins and do a fresh upload of an image. Did you also use “https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/image-regenerate-select-crop/”.

Can you please post the list of plugins you use?

sorry but i can not reproduce the problem. Can you please test the following thing? Deactivate all other plugins and switch to an default theme. Is the error still present?

As this is the error message you get, when the dimensions (x,y) has a negative Value.

• What browser do you using?
• what are the image upload dimensions?
• what are the image_size dimensions?
• Where did you place crop? Maybe provide an screenshot.

If the plugin hit any major problems i will update it. But currently there only minor problems. Feel free to adjust/contribute/fork via github.

Hi, jetpack support is currently not planed. If you want to modify the plugin to support jetpack you may have a look at the github repository (https://github.com/vollyimnetz/crop-thumbnails).

@kirito0 no i meant: you only posted the test results. Did you experience problems when working with the plugin?

Also do u use any cache/CDN plugin for the images?

Sorry for the long wait. This has to be some problem on your server i guess. But it may also be false alarms due to strange server settings.

You may try:

• Does the normal cropping work?
• Does the plugin work if its a standard theme with no other plugins active?

Please excuse me for not keeping up with the ticket. I am very busy at work at the moment.

The test result looks good. So the server seems to be executing the images correctly. So there must be something else interfering with the plugin.

I would recommend testing next:

• Test by switching off all other plug-ins. Does the error still exist? Which plugin does reactivating cause the error?
• Test a standard theme – does the error persist?

Hi there,
is there any way you can provide me with the original image (before wordpress upload). I assume this has something to do with the image orientation. Are the images taken with an smartphone – if so – android or iphone?

What crop settings do you use?
