Really, another dead plugin?

I’m not sure what you mean? I was asking about the wordpress.com ads on my site. I think it’s probably related to jetpack.

Jetpack is nice but it’s a bit much to maintain in a MU site so if it’s also going to advertise to our users, I’m not liking it.

I don’t think this is where you would post your suggestions. I believe there are better areas where your input will be better received.

I’ve seen updates since this post but there is still no Album removal option which doesn’t make any sense to users.

I have seen the exact code I posted on many sites so am assuming that people grab each others articles and post them on their own sites as tips.

The one thing that is always said is that the image must be /images/admin_logo.png yet when running an MU BP site, this directory doesn’t exist. I’ve tried putting the image in the BP themes images direct, the main sites wp-includes/images directory and nothing.

I’m also not sure if they are saying that it must be named admin_log.png or if that’s simply a tip.

I tried what I would prefer which is the site wide logo that I use at it’s own location in one of the uploads directories. I even copied the logo to the root of the entire install and still it doesn’t show.

We have two servers for the particular domain I am asking about.
One is a sub-directory server and the other is a sub-domain server.

I was asking about our sub-directory server since it’s really just one community but I do understand that on our sub-domain server, we would motivate those site owners to purchase their license of course.

Anyone supporting this?

kmessinger, that link is really just to a plugin. What I have been hoping to find out is how one can remove this from their site completely, not just hide it.

I am surprised that considering all of the complaints that there doesn’t seem to be an answer on how to fully nuke this.

Is the code in the db? Is the code in the html/php files? Where’s the code hiding?

Christine, should I have posted this in another forum? The problem is still there, there is code installed on my server by that company.

I would have to believe that wordpress authors would be more concerned?

I also notice I typo’d and write Remote instead of Remove

Yes, the banner still shows well after uninstalling their free software.
I have to use a snippet just to stop the banner from showing which feels to me like my WP site is now compromised.

WP should advertise such companies in the plugins screens to help others not get caught this way. I find this completely intrusive, virus like and am frustrated that I now have code in my system that I cannot remove.

No, I didn’t post anything in their forums because there are countless others who seem to be stuck just like me and others.

This didn’t work for me. I found a plugin called Snippets and used some code. I hate using plugins however because authors too often abandon them.
