I tried as per your suggestions and it worked.

First I changed the permalik setting to plain, but nothing happened.

Then I deactivated all plugins, except Woocommerce and the site started working normally.

Then one by one I activated the plugins and checked for any issue at the frontend.

When I activated, WooCommerce Stripe Gateway plugin, then the issue started again.

So I removed that plugin and now using PhonePe gateway plugin with success.

I think the issue is resolved now. Ok, is it?

Now there is another problem. I restored the backup and its showing my homepage, but when I click any of the links on homepage it shows the error.

I tried everything and then what I did is just restored my backup, which I had taken prior to this update.

I think I will reframe my explanation.
Before that some details of my website environment.
1. updated to latest WP version
2. using blocksy theme with gutenberg

When I create a new post and start editing it in editor mode, suppose I insert an image into the content of the post.
When I insert the image, I see a box in settings-alternative text. So I write relevant alt text in that box.
Then I publish the post.
The source code of this post shows alt tag properly for that image which I had inserted in to the post.

Now I come to my WP dashboard and open media library.
I click on that image which I just inserted into the published post, the alt tag for that image is missing. The alternative text box is empty.

It means that the image is still missing its alt tag and so when google indexes my site images, it shows me less SEO score, because that image has no alt tag.

So what I have to do is to first upload the required images to my particular post, give them relevant alt tags and then insert them into the post or page.

So I wonder, why that alternative text box is given in settings in editor mode for the images?

Please explain. I am not technically knowledgeable in WP but I thought this explanation might help in removing the problem.

Please forgive me if I am wrong or doing something stupid during publication of the posts.

I think there might be one thing which I kept on doing for my website.

Last three times or so, I took the backup of my entire site using All in One WP Migration plugin (paid version).

Then I installed fresh copy of WordPress on my server using Softaculous utility given in my CPanel.

When I installed fresh copy of WP on my server, it created new database.

Then I returned to my new dashboard, install All in One WP Migration paid plugin, upload my backed up file with .wpress extension and then restored it. I did this process twice or thrice.

So now as I checked my databases in phpMyAdmin console, I found such databases with “No Privileges”.

And the problem with All in One WP Migration plugin is that it is backing up all these “No Privileges” DBs also and restoring them in my fresh installation of WP.

I think this might be making a hotchpotch.

So I dropped all the “No Privileges” databases and installed fresh copy of WP on my server, with same database prefix. Then took the backup using the said plugin.

Then I visited to my fresh dashboard, restored the backed up file in All in One WP Migration plugin and Presto! it worked.

So I thank you all of you for your kind and quick support.

Now that the problem is solved. So I will mark this topic as resolved, after your valuable replies.

I found that everything is ok, but my database does not have wp prefix with an underscrore.

Renamed “Plugins” and “mu-Plugins” folder and then tried to login. But got the same error:

While searching I found one more .htaccess file in “ai1wm-backups” folder on my cpanel inside “wp-content” folder. It is the backup folder of All in One WP Migration (paid) plugin. The content of this .htaccess are as follows:
