It shows up when I put it in the Content but not in the Featured Content. It seems to work fine there as far as I can tell. The instructions Emil provided said to put it in the Featured Content area, though, I think. By this time I’m pretty confused about it all. Thanks for your attention to it! I’d appreciate any help.

Some progress made. I changed the shortcode to the Content Area rather than the Featured Content. Now it is showing up, at least. Wrong size and placement, but it is there. Please send tips if you have them and I’ll keep working.

I suppose a comment box could appear on posts that do have comments rather than a reply link. I had previously used info from these links to show comments on the home page, but that put a comment box below every post. The client didn’t like that.

No, for a post without comments I want only the Reply link so someone could leave a comment. For those with comments (the client) would like the text of those comments to show as well as a Reply link but no comment box on the home page. The link would take them to the comment box.

Is WordPress using the comment-bubble-dk and the comment-bubble-dk-rtl in the hover? I can’t tell what is up with that.

I am still at a loss about how to make the roll-over balloon look right. I tried editing the comment-bubble.png, the comment-bubble-dark.png and the comment-bubble-dark-rtl.png. When I roll over the balloon I get whiteness around the text and the balloon outline doesn’t look good. I worked on the masking color, but it didn’t seem to help. Any advice would be appreciated!

Also, I am using Firebug but I don’t see how to find what image is used for the balloon. I wouldn’t know which image to edit without the info from esmi.

Unfortunately I am lost here. I created a image of the comment-bubble.png with “Reply” on it for the Twenty-Eleven child theme. When I roll over the image, though, I get white around the text. I don’t really understand what is controlling what here, so I don’t know how to change that. Please help!

Thanks again. I do use (and love) firebug. I just didn’t see the image when analyzing it with that. Thanks so much for that info! I’m also just learning about child themes. Before this I have mostly used Thesis. I really appreciate your help!
