Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: stuck at install.phpI’m having the same problem as mentioned here. I ran that website mentioned above to install wordpress and I continue to receive an error connecting to the database.
Ya I followed those instructions exactly. How can I use fantastico? Lunarpages doesn’t like look it has fantastico
Whoops, I was typing that as you responded. Any idea what might be causing my error? I’ve gone through the database creation, user creation over 10 times and have re-download and re-uploaded the files multiple times. I’m seriously at a loss here haha
After doing some research, it seems like ‘localhost’ is what lunarpages uses and I’m certain I have the other information correct, I just don’t understand why there’s an error connecting to the database.
Whooami,
I’m in cpanel and can’t find where it’s located. Can you walk me through it?
How can I find out if “localhost” should be something different? If the error message is correct, that must be the problem since the other info is 100% correct.
My error says “error establishing connection to database”. I tried searching some old posts, but none have been able to help.
I have a different problem now. I finally got wordpress up(https://vtonight.com/wp-admin/install.php) but I’m getting a different error message that says it can’t connect to wp-config. Is there something wrong with my config file?(I edited out my database details for privacy.)

require_once(ABSPATH . ‘wp-settings.php’);I have the nameservers situated now and I uploaded everything to a directory called blog, yet when i go to vtonight.com/blog or vtonight.com/blog/wp-admin/install.php the link is broken. I uploaded to a simple text html homepage and that works fine. I feel like an idiot doing this, it seems so simple in the instructions haha. Anyone have an idea of what I’m doing wrong?
Can anyone help? The godaddy stuff is showing up when i go to my page. Do i need to do something in order to switch everything over to my hosting site?
I’m hosting with lunarpages.com but the domain is registered to godaddy.com. Do I have to do anything special on either site other than tell lunarpages that I have a domain registered to another site? I hope you are right on the propagate, because this has been frustrating.
