In reply to: Cannot update plugins since updating to 5.7Thanks, @t-p, I am aware I can do that. I should have been clearer. I’m more curious whether anyone else has come across this issue, or if there’s any record of this being a known bug/conflict, or how I might go about debugging it myself. For example, this appears to be core code that’s been obfuscated – I’m curious what the original code looks like so I can dig into what the root cause may be. Probably I just need to dig a bit deeper into WP’s build system to locate that original JS file…

In reply to: class-wp-community-events.php on line 267I just tried to log into wp-admin of my site this morning, not having done any admin work on my site in about a week, and suddenly I’m getting this exact same error as well. I haven’t done a WordPress update, so why would I suddenly be getting this error?

In reply to: [FakerPress] “Featured Image” field missingYup, it’s very confusing to call this field “Weight,” @bordoni. “Rate” is clear, especially with the help text below it (“Percentage rate of posts that will have …”). Should probably stay consistent with that wording – both the field name and the help text – otherwise we’re all bound to get a little confused. ??

In reply to: [Timely All-in-One Events Calendar] Plugin conflict with CSSHi webmaster_user,
I can’t guess what’s happening just by looking at screenshots. It’s clearly a CSS conflict with your theme, but CSS conflicts can’t be resolved just by looking at pictures of them. Please share the URL of your website so that I can inspect the issue properly.
Thanks,

In reply to: [My Category Order] Does not workSame result here. This plugin does not have any effect on the order of categories in WordPress 3.8. The alternative https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/order-categories/ works perfectly fine.

In reply to: [P2] P2 mentions: Notifications/EmailsThis is just what I was wondering! I totally don’t understand the point of “mentions” in P2 if there isn’t a way for the targeted user to be notified.
Never mind… I see what my client did. She changed the General Settings Site URL to https://wellnessing.ca/?page_id=4, thinking that was the correct way to make her “About Us” page be the home page. So that’s her mistake, and also mine for not checking there first.
But man, seriously? Can’t WP be a little smarter than to say that .htaccess is not writable? I know it’s open source and all, but come on, this is basic if-else logic here… so friggin’ misleading!!
Also, a curious thing:
Currently, every permalink rendered on the site starts with /?page_id=4/. These are the options on my permalink settings screen:
- Default https://wellnessing.ca/?page_id=4/?p=123
- Day and name https://wellnessing.ca/?page_id=4/2012/04/24/sample-post/
- Month and name https://wellnessing.ca/?page_id=4/2012/04/sample-post/
- Numeric https://wellnessing.ca/?page_id=4/archives/123
- Post name https://wellnessing.ca/?page_id=4/sample-post/
And as you can see by visiting wellnessing.ca, every menu item’s URL reflects this strange URL prefix quirk. I can’t see any way to remove the ?page_id=4 portion from the permalink options.
There’s also nothing unusual about my WP folder structure. It’s installed in the HTTP root of the domain.

In reply to: htaccess file not writeable in permalinksI have the same problem, it’s incredibly frustrating. I’m sure PHP safe_mode is off (though it shouldn’t matter), .htaccess is owned by apache, chmod 777, doesn’t matter. WordPress thinks it can’t write to it (even though it doesn’t have to because the file already contains all the correct lines) and refuses to support the desired permalink structure. Never happened in previous versions of WordPress.
@yani, totally in agreement here. Awesome job on the continued releases, by the way. ??

In reply to: Ghost post?@brainjured: I’m getting closer to finding the source of my own ghost posts. I was wondering, do you have any particular WordPress plugins enabled, by chance?

In reply to: Ghost post?Same thing has been happening on our network site for the last couple weeks. Oodles of draft posts (with missing fields) just accumulate on their own. Our editor keeps having to delete them every day because they interfere with the post list (they always show up at the top and shift all legit posts down). Have no idea where these ghost posts are coming from.

In reply to: Updated readme is not showing on the plugin pageNever mind – we just released 1.2.2 and that seemed to cause the readme text on the plugin page to get updated. Go figure.
