In reply to: [XML News Sitemap] Fatal error with PHP 7.1 when editing meta descriptionThanks, I confirm. This error is gone.
Right now there is no caching active, neither in WordPress nor any PHP cache.
Here are two example screenshots. How it should like like:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/h6f3m1nzmcjahox/mobile-menu-abn-off.pngAs soon as I activate the ABNL plugin, it is looking like this:

Here are two images to show the difference:

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Fatal error with PHP 7.1 when editing meta descriptionHi marcanor, yes indeed! This problem is caused by the XML News Sitemap plugin by Justin Norton. I should have noticed this…
If it is deactivated, everything is fine regarding Yoast. I’ll write about the bug in that forum. Thanks.
Hello Rui, thanks for checking this issue! Well, WP Mobile Menu is still partly working, but the settings for header image and colors (and more) are all “gone” as long as this Ad Blocker Notify Lite is active.
I will try your suggestion to deactivate other plugins, but because they are a lot (36 active plugins) it’s a hell of a task on this site. Some plugins always require some attention after they’ve been turned off and on. :/
Also, for now and until tomorrow, I have activated the Notify plugin again. If it is of any help getting clues, you might have a look at the effect now as well as at the full page source code.

Just to make sure, I tried activating JSON, but it still shows the same error at debug. Well yes, ignoring seems to be the only option for now.

Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Changes to a page are not savedAs I tried to delete the page, its permalink was changed to “…/newsletter__trashed”, though it is still in the list of published pages instead of the trashcan. So I don’t have the option to permanently delete.
I was able to create a new “newsletter” page, which is working and editable.
So this problem is not fixed, the locked page still is in the system and can neither be deleted nor edited.
Probably a bug in WordPress??
PS: As a last chance, I tried to edit or delete the page on wordpress.com (the site is liked via Jetpack), but it did not work either. “Error saving changes.”
Ok another update to this by myself. Because this was a huge misundertanding by me … indeed the subcription feature we are using is offered by Jetpack and wordpress.com and if we want to use templates, we have to move our subscriber list to a plugin on our site, for example MailChimp, and of course change the subscription widget.
I also asked at Jetpack support wheter any kind of mail customization or a template could be used, but they said no.

In reply to: [WP Server Health Stats] Still showing old database version after db updateYes, thanks a lot for your explanation!
Thanks, that’s an idea! Probably will use another plugin then.
Update: I did find the switch at /wp-admin/admin.php?page=jetpack_modules … but when I switch off the Jetpack module (which is described here https://jetpack.com/support/subscriptions/ ), I am not getting new post emails at all. Also I am losing the subscription widget and notifying options at the comment form. :/
I am confused now, is Email Templates working only for a different type of WordPress subscription? How does it work?

In reply to: [Polylang] Splash screen at start for language selection*stroke* … after sleeping it over, I thought: Then why don’t I! ??
Okay: That workaround with an unused language exept for one static start page can work and it might be fine if you want to keep the theme design. But I wanted to give the splash page a completely different, clean design.
So I created a .html page with a nice free software called KompoZer, saved it as index.html in the WordPress root directory, et voilà. This might be the easiest way to create a completely customizable splash, start or landing page.
Note: There is a problem with the WordPress customizer now, it only shows the splash page, but I might find a solution another day.

In reply to: [Very Simple Splash Page] Adding extra buttonsThis would help me too a lot … I want to use a splash screen for language selection, so what I need is a huge image (works fine) and two buttons.
Also, instead of predefined buttons I would like to use my own images. I have beautiful flag icons.
Okay thanks.
