I was able to recreate your issue using Google Translator and it seems I still have some figuring out to do with figuring out how best handle RTL and non-Latin languages.

I will release and update by this Friday that fixes this issue.

In this example it looks like you didn’t enter a course and cuisine for this recipe.

    Hello @nwn2006,

Thank you for providing this feedback as your input towards having this plugin grow. I will respond to each item you’ve highlighted below.

I do know that the lack of documentation is holding back the wider adoption of this plugin. This something I have been trying to fix for a while now but there is always some setback that pushes this goal down the line. However, I can say that there are concrete plan going toward fulfilling this goal; I’ve even bought a new domain (recipepressr.com) for the site.

A “cuisine missing” warning should not be occurring if that recipe is in fact assigned to a cuisine in the recipe editor. If that is the case I would like to look at that website. Also, I must add that there is even a “Default cuisine” feature where you set the default cuisine for recipes that does not have a cuisine explicitly set. This is a feature I added to specific fix that warning.

In the bulk ingredients and bulk instructions inserters you can add headings by placing a hash # at that start of the line where the heading is. That will transform that line to a heading and create groups on the frontend.

I am not too sure how to approach that issue with SEO plugins not recognizing content inside metaboxes. I will have to research how or if other plugins, such as WooCommerce, that rely on metaboxes surface their content to SEO plugins.

I do not understand this one about galleries. Can’t you use galleries in the content editor, like you would a regular WordPress post?

I am not too sure about this one about ratings I will have to look into user experience of having reviews and ratings on a page.

The “reading mode” feature is doable and the “meal plan/collections” is already available via the “Favorite Recipes” extension that comes with the plugin. All you have to do is enable the extension, enter the page URL that will be favorites page and and the [rpr-favorites] shortcode to that page.

I am about halfway through implementing this feature and it occurred to me that this feature will cause a lot of problems for me in the future. For the mere fact that these nutritional facts can only be estimates at best or outright inaccurate at worse.

This is the exact reason why Google removed the need for nutritional information such as fat content, protein, carbohydrates and other such information as a requirement for their recipe schema markup. They now only require a calories count for a recipe. https://developers.google.com/search/docs/appearance/structured-data/recipe

So this feature is one I will have to place on the back-burner for now.

I am currently working on adding this widget in the next update which I plan on releasing this Monday.

Currently I working on creating the documentation site for the plugin so there is not a list of shortcodes for the plugin right now.

    Hello again,

Can provide more information or show me an example of what you mean by “show nutrition facts like nutrition labels”?

Currently there are no importers for recipes created by other plugin but this is something I want to explorer seeing that the “Cooked” plugin you mentioned is no longer supported. I will look into this and get back to you later.

    Hello @nwm2006

The plugin does support automatic recipe schema markup that matches the Google requirements. You can search the HTML markup of a recipe for a script tag with an HTML ID of rpr-recipe-schema.

You can insert a recipe inside a post using the [rpr-recipe id=133] shortcode where id is the ID of the recipe. Also, using a custom post type for recipes is one of the main feature/advantage of the recipe.

    You’re welcome.

This should now be resolved in the update that I just released.

    Hello @core,

Looking back at the code for this feature I can see where the database query is being cached for a 12 hour period as this feature has the possibility of fetching every published recipe on the website.

I will add a feature that clears this cache when a new recipe is published, edited or deleted. I will push the change in 2 hours or so.

This should resolve the issue you are experiencing.

    Hello @niching,
    Sorry for the delayed response.

The scroll bars should appear automatically once the content of that area is taller than 13.5em.

Hello @pris15, I’ll answer you questions as you have listed them.

    1. Normally displaying the latest review ought to be handled by your theme. However, if you would like to do so you can try [rcno-reviews-grid]
    2. I do not have such a shortcode as this is something that ought to be handled by the theme and custom theme templates.
    3. This is not supported
    4. There is no such shortcode.

For your second question, I do not understand, could you explain in more detail?

    Hello, @trguest

May I see one of the reviews you have published?

If the error your are referring to is that 404 page, then try flushing your permalinks. You can do so by visiting Settings > Permalinks on your website’s backend.

    Hello @wbecker
    Sorry for the delayed response.

You’d have to check the email your website would have sent the site’s administrator for exact details on which plugin triggered the error. Or, check your webserver’s PHP error log for more details.
