  • Hey! Just after I sent my message above, I decided to give it another try searching with a different SE, and it turned out that this issue was solved more than a year ago! But I feel glad at least we were on the right path hehe.

The thread with the solution is here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/241480?replies=9

I added the recommended line of code to the login form in CYC.php plugin, and it worked as expected. I hope this work for you, too.

    Cheers,
    Harold

Hi! I have exactly the same problem here. So I disabled the CYC plugin and tried registering a dummy user and it worked. So, apparently it is an incompatibility issue indeed.

In the past few days, I had to make several corrections to the CYC plugin to suit my needs, so it is not the standard anymore. But if I can find some way to fix this problem, I’ll post it here. But I warn you not to have big expectations, because I’m not a programmer and my php knowledge is very limited… sorry :$.

But if you want to adventure fixing it yourself, here’s one hint you could find useful: apparently CYC customize the login and register pages replacing them with its own version of the forms, so I’m not surprised something important would have been missing. Besides, the CYC is fairly simpler than Register Plus, so I’ll begin looking for the solution in CYC and not in Register Plus, even when reports say that Register Plus has not being updated to work with WP 9.2.x

    Good luck to everybody!

I needed something similar for my company’s internal blog, but what I did was to set up a normal email contact form (I used Contact Form 7, even when I usually use Cforms II, just because I think it was better for the job). Then I removed the name, email and any other field that asks for personally identifiable info. In a similar way, I modified the email template the plugin sends, removing the sender’s IP, name, email address, etc.

Now, our HR Dept receives anonymous emails with suggestions and comments from employees. But for this to work without leaving an open door for anyone to write (and obviously, to spam), I must tell you that our blog allows access to members only, thanks to a clever combination of several plugins, with Members Only, Blue Steel Theme, Role Scoper and Disable Revisions and Autosave, among them.
I don’t know if this info solves anything, but maybe it can give someone some ideas…
