In reply to: SSL Not across whole site@esmi – thanks and I will – I was commenting on trader4300 because he asked if anyone else had this problem.
trader4300 – when you installed your ssl, did you “flush DNS”? {I act like I know what I’m talking about, but I don’t – I was just told to do so ?? }
Hostgator told me that was my first step. Then after asking them why it wasn’t working, as in your case, this is their response.
“it appears that the SSL certificate appears to be malfunctioning is because there are non-secure items on the webpage. This can be fixed by updating your image and page links to include the HTTPS prefix. Once all non-secure items are updated, this should fix the broken padlock.
You can use following link to know more about non-secure items: https://www.whynopadlock.com
If you are still facing problem in updating non-secure items then please contact your webmaster or website builder to update this so that you can get secure lock for your site.”
My issue appears to be all in the images I uploaded previous to the ssl certificate being installed. So I deleted and reuploaded and this didn’t work. Then I saw your post and thought I might learn something here….now I’m going to send a message to where I bought the theme and see what they say. I’ll let you know if I find anything out, if you would please do the same – but keep in mind, I do not know coding ??
Thanks.

In reply to: SSL Not across whole siteHaving the exact same issue and I am a rookie! My problem is with all the images I downloaded from my hard drive…I have no idea how to make them https. I tried deleting them from my media folder on wp and reuploading, but that is not the solution. I’m with hostgator and they tell me I have to do it all manually too, but have no idea what to do! ugh.

In reply to: How do I hide information from a user profile page?Thank you for your reply. I am trying to get some answers because I’ve been pushed around for almost 2 months. They told me that the PHP needed to be changed here but a friend who does coding said the same as you, this “looked like” CSS and he doesn’t know PHP so I wanted to see if anyone on here could help me understand what I’m even supposed to be asking for.
I guess I’ll just give up on it….I can’t seem to get help from anywhere I turn.
Frustrating!

In reply to: How to change/remove tabs on profile pageHere is the response from templatic on the above issue that I received this morning.
Hello,“In order to remove that total submission field from the front end author dashboard page, Please try inserting the below css into your custom.css editor.
.user_dsb_cf {
display: none !important;
}But blocking the submission form is still a kind of difficult task and we have to customize the file contents directory/wp-content/themes/Directory/author.php accordingly in order to accomplish this.
I hope you understand.”So, is there a way to do this through a plug in or something. They tell me to customize file contents all the time, but won’t tell me what to customize them too….I am clueless.

In reply to: How to change/remove tabs on profile pageI see that there is a plug in that allows changes to profile pages…I could try that but I’m not sure whether I am able to just use any plug in or if things will start affecting my theme in a bad way – causing more problems.

In reply to: How to change/remove tabs on profile pageYes, thank you!
I am using the Directory2 theme from templatic. I want the front end User to just be able to login and save businesses to their “favorites” and to post “ratings and comments”
The theme allowed for front end submissions and therefore displayed a toolbar for admin. They also have a spot on the page that shows how many “submissions” were submitted by the user as well as tabs that say “you have no listings – click the submission page to submit listing” which takes you to the submission page.
I DO NOT want front end submission – I will be the only admin. So, I found a plug in today that blocked the front end admin toolbar so that is AWESOME! but, I still need to remove the ability to submit listings on the actual user profile page. I don’t know how to accomplish this because the page was set up by templatic using a short code – and I don’t know what to do to change that.
If you would like to register and see for yourself what I am talking about, go to https://citygate.us and register as a user and when you login (get your password from your email) you will see what I mean. Also, I’m not sure why but the message that thanks you for registering and tells you to get the password from your email account only shows up AFTER you login….
THANK YOU for your help!
