I hope a pro can shed some light… I have been hacked this way for the last 5 weeks… I have the whole kit of plugins related to security, you name it I have it…however it always starts with attacks making 404 errors…then considering I have been hacked… the first thing they do is play around with the security plugins so that they no longer alert you…
Right now I am paying for a new security monitor… which seems to be holding them at bay for the last 4 days. However I am watching my live stats today and they are at it again making 404 errors. Usually with pages that start with
https://www.example.com/wp-admin/ (then add) bogus web page, code, scrip, get… over and over again in bursts at about 100’s of 404’s coming in seconds per page.

Me too, I have 1.2.5 and getting the same 404 issue. I have to keep checking off/on the “Enforce a trailing slash on all category and tag URL’s” and can keep Strip the category base (usually /category/) from the category URL. And that seems to work, however I do get random 404’s and every time I update a page, write a post, or add a photo…I have to do this to keep my site links working and not heading in the dark 404 land.

My theme suggested that I remove you..however I really, really like your plug in… Suggestions?

Thanks for the info… You are right about the cloud… Just you wait… I am going to take your advise and improve my site. It has been a long time since I did anything on the internet. I had a great website in 1994 and have not touched a web thing until now…
