I really appreciate your response, however, I would like to clarify something: Should we switch from PayPal Standard to PayPal Payments in any case, or should we keep using PayPal Standard in the case that Vaulting* is enabled for our account? I followed your instructions – enabled the Storefront theme and disabled all plugins except WooCommerce and WooCommerce Payments, but the error is still there. Additionally, I noticed we have an error at WooCommerce -> Settings -> Payments. The error is:

PayPal Reference Transactions are not enabled on your account. If you wish to use PayPal Reference Transactions with Subscriptions, please contact PayPal and request they enable PayPal Reference Transactions on your account.
