  • Thanks so much Chris! The tip about refreshing the PAGE is priceless! (So easy to assume that all we have to do is click “refresh” on the right side, when, in fact, we need to refresh the entire PAGE.)

So far so good! I see lots of articles.

    I have another question, though:

If I list “https://websitename.com/feed/gn” as one of the feeds–which lists ALL of the articles on the site that ALSO appear in the various section pages–will I be penalized for duplicate content? In short, should I remove that feed?

Regarding the app itself, it’s just GREAT. I hope you get lots of takers because it’s a thing of beauty!

    Hi again,

I’ve now created several sections in Google Publisher Center. I’m concerned that I may have filled out descriptions incorrectly, because I’m getting the dreaded “section is empty” error just before publishing. I’ve checked my feeds (described below) and the articles are there, just not showing up in Google Publisher Center.

When adding the sections, I used the WP plugin Chris created and set up the sections this way:
    Section Title (Name of blog)
https://websitename.com/feed/gn (repeated for 8 more sections)
I selected: Generate articles directly from feed or crawl
I also selected: Use website or AMP

    Did I do this correctly?

Thanks so much for your help!

    M.J.

    Hi Chris,
I’ll probably post later with questions, but for now, I just want to thank you for creating this plugin!

Well alrighty, then! Just discovered that the “problem” is in Jetpack, but it may not really be a problem at all. Jetpack has its own controls for comments. I’ve enabled them, so we’ll see how the next post looks.

Now, though, I may need to figure out how to enable comments for posts that have already been published.

Thanks for the help and the welcome!

Thanks much! I ran the Health Check plugin that only found a couple of issues. It tells me that “The optional module, imagick, is not installed, or has been disabled.”

It also tells me that I need to update my PHP (I’m using PHP 7.0 so that may be a hiccup with the Health Check plugin). I also ran PHP Compatibility Checker and was told that all of my plugins passed the compatibility test with PHP 7.0, so not sure I really need to update the PHP.

Finally, I enabled troubleshooting mode with the Health Check, checked my site and there’s still no opportunity for anyone to comment.

Flummoxed. Not sure what to do next. (Except think that maybe I shouldn’t allow comments, after all!) ??

Thanks for your ideas! I certainly need at least one more!

Hi Stef and Joy. Really appreciate your input!

    The mystery deepens.

I’m trying to allow comments. (Maybe something I turned off light years ago.)

In checking the Quick Edit option for my posts, I see that I’m allowing comments.

Addressing the possibilities in the Settings>Discussion options (wp-admin/options-discussion.php)I don’t see any other options at the top of the screen, aside from the “Help” down arrow.

    Ideas?

    Thanks again!
