In reply to: [Cimy User Extra Fields] CHANGELOG info for v2.7.2 missingI had the same question/concern. You can read the full changlog in the README_OFFICIAL.txt from the WordPress plugin development trac here:
https://plugins.trac.www.ads-software.com/browser/cimy-user-extra-fields/trunk/README_OFFICIAL.txtHere’s the part about v2.7.2
v2.7.2 – 10/05/2017
Fixed registration rules were applied on profile update when certain plug-ins are installed, like bbpress (thanks to Vane R.)
Fixed MYSQL error on WordPress MS when creating sites through other plug-ins (thanks to Kathy Goss)
Fixed PHP Notice: Undefined index: welcome_email on WordPress MS
Updated Securimage Captcha to v3.6.4 (fixes this vulnerability https://www.redteam-pentesting.de/en/advisories/rt-sa-2016-002/-cross-site-scripting-in-securimage-3-6-2)Okay, so just want to let you know that everything is AWESOME ??
There’s a check box in 6.16 “Check for short emails or author name” Un-checking that is what I needed to get my non login form to work.
If I use the option “Only use the plugin for standard WordPress forms” then the Theme My Login pages do not get inspected for trouble.
I also have the “Filter Login Requests” checked.
Looks like this combination of settings in ver 6.16 will get the job done for my situation.
Will let you know if that’s not the case.
Thanks
WayneSorry… Also, is ver 6.16 still checking for “author too short”?
I’ve installed ver 6.16 and selected the option to “Only use the plugin for standard WordPress forms”. That seems to be working after having tested a non login.php form submission.
Continuing to test and having some trouble understanding if using the email address “[email protected]” is supposed to trigger a block even if the test is coming from my current admin approved IP address. I’m using a different non-logged in browser to try to register from, and it was not blocked ??
I am using ver 6.15 along with the “Theme My Login” plugin. SSSP is definitely working with the TML forms and does the proper checks – I’ve tested to make sure. Works great! ?? TML must be using all the proper WP hooks or whatever and it’s own forms.
I’ll test it out and see if the beta works for me.
Hmm… I don’t think that’s going to work for my situtation, as I use the “Theme My Login” plugin for the reg/login/forgot forms, and have checked “Filter Login Requests” in SSSP.
Keith – I’ve been using the latest WP repository version of this plugin for 12 days now. It has stopped about 5,000 spam login/registration attempts. It has also noticeably lightened the load on the “Limit Login Attempts” plugin that I also use – from several dozen lockouts a day to just a few. This plugin is awesome ??
I expect to be upgrading my servers to PHP 7 soon and will upgrade to your latest beta version prior to that (read somewhere that the beta has fixes for some PHP 7 errors).
Knowing that you are “retired again”, I wonder what the future will hold for your plugin. I see you have a SSSP page at GitHub, but the last update there was in 2015. Have you had anyone come forward offering to help you keep this plugin up to date, or willing to take the lead on it? Personally, I do not have the plugin development knowledge to offer any help. But, I would like to encourage anyone who does to consider contacting you about helping this great plugin to live on.
What do you think?

Keith – Thanks for the tip with tester email. I’ve been using a few brower proxy services for testing and those also work for seeing what a spammer will see.
I just started using your plugin last week on a forum site I’ve been running for over 20 years (past 4 years using strictly WordPress and plugins). Love what your plugin does, and it works great. I use it in combination with “Limit Login Attempts” “Bulletproof Security” and “Theme My Login” All work to provide me with a pretty good feeling about security and spam. I was disappointed to read on your blogseye website that you intend to discontinue support for SSSP ?? I hope that someone with the appropriate skills will be able to help your project live on.
I just ordered a copy of “Error Message Eyes” (paperback). Looking forward to reading that, and hoping, that with encouragement, you might continue to support this plugin. Glad to see that you are still posting support responses here ??
If your admin IP is whitelisted, won’t this make testing useless?
Or, if your admin IP is not whitelisted, won’t testing get you locked out of your own site?

In reply to: [Social Media Feather | social media sharing] ShareThis and Privacy issuesSassy Social Share
This is what I’m using now. I like it and it works great.

In reply to: [WP Photo Album Plus] Photo of the day album can't be changedI know this topic is from last year… But, I’m running latest Version 6.6.09 and can not change the potd album selection. The selection field just shows the name of album it is stuck on. No option to “start over”.
I had to resort to changing the potd album number by using phpadmin at the database. That worked. But, it’s a clunky work around.
Still – Awesome plugin thanks! ??

In reply to: [Social Media Feather | social media sharing] ShareThis and Privacy issuesSo sad to see this change. This is the same kind of BS that ruined the share plugin I used previous to this one. Time to move on and look for another ??

In reply to: [Per page add to head] Is "evonapluginconfig" folder from this plugin? Thanks for your reply. All that makes sense and seems reasonable.
Here’s why the security plugin marked the folder as suspicious:
A hidden or empty plugin folder is a plugin the exists in your /plugins/ folder, but is not displayed on the WordPress Plugins page. A hidden plugin can be used as a hacker backdoor to gain access to your WP Dashboard, hosting account, create user accounts, completely control your website and hosting account, etc.
I’m satisfied that the folder your plugin created is fine.

In reply to: [Simple Share Buttons Adder] NEW Terms & Privacy Policy – Nag MessageI have disabled the plugin after updating it to ver 6.2.2 and getting the nag link that leads to page that will not load due to SSL certificate revoked.
Wanted to revert to an earlier version, but the Developers page for this plugin at www.ads-software.com only lists the current version as available for download.

I find it troubling and worrisome when previous versions are not available. Have lost faith in this plugin at this time.
