yes, you will need to change a couple of settings — any setting — in the widget itself, save it, and wait a while (about a minute) to see any change. keep an eye particularly on the date range (daily, monthly, etc) which may affect the number of users and comments being counted.

do you use any caching option by any chance?

@klb331: I’ve received several comments on this matter as well. I *think* I got it figured out. The reason for this may be because, when it is initially installed into your widgetized sidebar/navbar, there were some default values that were suppose to be there but were not initialized properly. Hopefully that’s fixed once I get the update uploaded.

In the mean time, if you don’t mind tinkering around with the settings and save them, that would sometimes solve the problem.

I had a look at your blog today, seems like the comment counts are alright now?

That tip to change the User status to Author did the trick for me — was finally able to see the list of authors to select after doing so. Thanks!

Are you using a customized theme for your WP site? And what other widgets are you using on your site that are acting / not acting similarly to the TCW?

I apologize it took me awhile to reply, since this thread wasn’t tagged before (I’ve added it now). Are you still facing this problem? If you still do, can you give me the specs of the server running your WP (Apache, PHP, MySQL, TCW versions) and anything else that might help me?

I’m assuming you’re trying to install them via WP’s dashboard? You might have to do so manually via FTP instead.

There is an option within the TCW widget settings itself called “Reset list every”. The ranges are by day, week, month, year, all time, or a specific number of days. Hope that answers your question.
