What the heck. I tried switching the theme, re-installing the blog, and installing to a different directory. Still no links section And no mention of such a drastic change here.

It’s Twilight zone.

Answering and closing my own question. I did ftp my files and removed the participad plugin file completely. My blog is back to normal.

Already did 1-3, so did the google flush, and that did it! Everything is fine! Thanks so much, Esmi!

Yes, I’ve done all of that — turned off all plugins, reset the plugins folder, cleared my cache/history, switched to TwentyEleven, and nothing seems to work. It looks fine in IE, just not in Google Chrome.

Well, Gov, I’ve got it working, but I’m not sure how. Turns out my header image overlapped with the navbar, so it was partly a spatial thing. Removing the header /div link made a difference. But that still doesn’t make sense, because the main header link should have gone to the right place.

But I think it also did rewrite the htaccess file when I followed your suggestions because that’s different now too. So maybe that was it, after all.

I give up, but hey, it’s working. Thank you so much for your help.

In fact, when I hover on “Home”, it says “https://malcs.org/ in the Status Bar, but it doesn’t actually go theree. Which makes me think it’s something about my htaccess????

Okay, I’m a PC user who just installed WordPress for a friend with a Mac, and I’m having some annoying problems posting documents, pdfs, and images, with WP 2.7. I wonder if you all still feel the same about WP?

I have a question that is vaguely related to this one. I’m finally realizing that not every new theme creator replaces every element (page.php, links.php, for ex) that WordPress default uses. I think. (I’m cool with CSS and html, but the php stuff is new for me)

I’m using this theme and I can’t seem to identify the .php file for the additional static “Page.” Isn’t it usually Page.php? The “Page” I created shows at https://jr.chicanas.com/?page_id=3 and it seems like the default Page structure includes the “post” component, which I’d like to get rid of. But I can’t identify the basic php file underlying this page in the source code, or in my content files….I think I’m missing something basic here….?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks so much,

Oh geez, yup, it was just my cache. I’m using Firefox 1.5.0.7 and the IE tab extension, and both were not reflecting the changes, for some reason.

It kills me when I make a problem more complicated than it is.
