See the screenshot here: https://wp-events-plugin.com/documentation/event-categories/
You should see an “Event Categories” link underneath the main “Events” menu on the left sidebar in the WP Dashboard. Not in the event itself and not under “Settings”. Categories has it’s own link just like Post categories do.
I’ve cloned my site and set the Events page as the home page to give you a reproducible case: https://artvallejo.org/clone/
The links for “News” and “Community” are all for post categories and all display the error.
If you want a user account just message me through the email on the contact form and I’ll give you full admin access.
PS:
if you ever add the ability to import ics (and really ideally Facebook event feeds too) I’ll be happy to purchase that feature as a premium add-on.Thanks!
115 –
https://artvallejo.org/category-list/
many are subcategories – Like Blues, Jazz and Classical under Music
Could it be a conflict between EM categories and regular post categories? Only my category pages, such as https://artvallejo.org/category/profiles/ and https://artvallejo.org/category/recreation/ are affected – everything else is fine. I have A LOT of event categories.
I just got exactly the same error when i tried to switch my home page to the “events” page. I’ve got my hands full just making the site presentable after switching to a new theme, but I’ll be happy to clone you a copy later so you can see the problem. Or I can export my events for you if that will help. https://artvallejo.org/
I think some of the issues I have with Events Manager might must have to do with the quantity of events on my site. There’s another issue that my categories list ignores the directive to hide empty categories, and this is reproducible with my set of events but not on a fresh installation of Events manager with only a handful of events entered. I haven’t had time to drill down and split the events out to narrow down if it is quantity or one corrupted or weirdly configured event .
Thanks!
PS: EM 5.5.5 & WP 4.1

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Woocommerce Unlink Featured ImagesLooking for the same solution. The product in question here is software so the image isn’t important . It doesn’t need to pop up in a larger light-box or anything. I want to remove the link.
I just installed this plugin, set it up, and it doesn’t appear to be working. For example, https://downtownvallejo.com/Contact.html should be redirecting to https://downtownvallejo.com/contact-us/
thanks for looking into this.

In reply to: [Counterpoint] Can't select parent page from main menuThe page is there. I copied it page to a post so it could be a sticky post – thus the ‘2’ in the url.
I think it is the way this theme is supposed to work, because you have to click to see the dropdown rather than hover, therefore if the parent menu item linked to the page it would defeat the usability of the dropdown. Not a bug but a non-standard feature. Knowing what to expect I can work with it.

In reply to: [Counterpoint] Can't select parent page from main menuLook at the menu for https://downtownvallejo.com/
The link to About CCRC is not reachable from the left menu because it has the “Downtown Vacancies” link in it.
Thanks
Better solution – I created custom page template called “no header image” with the header image code removed.
OK – I removed the “else” statement on line 215 from functions.php. I know there’s a more graceful way to re,move and rewrite the function in a child theme but I confess I’m lazy!
It would be nice if the counterpoint_catch_image function could only get the image if it is over a certain size
Thanks!

In reply to: [Export User Data] this crashed my site and comleetey stuffed it upI don’t need to use the plugin and don’t have time to troubleshoot today. Strange thing was I installed the plugin to use it once the first week of this month and only noticed problems today.
I also have these errors in log from around the same timeframe. At first I thought they were unrelated, but maybe someone is looking for an exploit? Ip addresses are registered in Russia and Japan. I suspect the dental site is an innocent bystander:

In reply to: [Export User Data] this crashed my site and comleetey stuffed it upMy site went down today with an internal server error.
error log showed a bunch of these errors:
[30-Dec-2014 20:15:46] PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION, expecting ‘)’ in /home4/xxxxxxx/public_html/wp-content/plugins/export-user-data/export-user-data.php on line 756I deleted the plugin folder and now the site is back. Don’t know why this just started today – maybe an auto update? Haven’t had time to fully investigate.
Fairly new bluehost account running php 5.4.24
