  • Yes, really annoying. WP 5.7 broke all my reusable blocks. Even the Amazon kindle block from the WP developement team is now wonky on 5.7. Hopefully they know this and will patch up to fix these bugs soon. And hopefully all the old blocks will work again. I don’t want to go back to manually re-edit them. Tired of seeing: “Block cannot be rendered inside itself.”

That’s great! I just checked it out and works like a charm. Nice new features added as well. Thank you.

    Hi Donna,

I wanted to add my Amazon affiliate link for readers of the review who might want to check it out. I added a hyperlink in the text and I also added a button block with my affiliate link but I always click on the images so just seemed a miss opportunity to not hyperlink the book cover as well.

Thanks for the reply and for the plugin!

Hi, sorry the late reply. I didn’t receive an email notification from WordPress and I hadn’t checked the forum in awhile.

The workaround for that would be to use the shortcode version of the plugin. Copy the shortcode for the multiple progress bars then paste that into the text or the Custom HTML Widget and they won’t have the header added for each one. Hope that helps.

I’ll try to make that process easier in the next version of the plugin.

    Thanks!

Nevermind. I had an old original feed in Feedburner. Once I changed that, all episodes loaded on the feed. All good.

Yes, you can. If you click on “Progress Bar” in your dashboard menu (you’ll see a little gear wheel icon next to it) that will take to the shortcode generator. Enter your info in there then click on the “Generate Shortcode” button. Copy the code. Now you can paste that code in in the text editor wherever you want to (in a page, post) and it will generate the progress bar there.

You can’t control the font in the header but it is on my “to-do” list for the next version of the plugin, but I don’t have an ETA for that yet, sorry!

    Thanks!

    Hello,

Unfortunately, neither of those options are available in this version. The width space is something that is already on my update list for the next version. I hadn’t thought about #1 (editing the text under the progress bar). I like that idea a lot, so I’m adding that to the list.

I’m planning to start that process in May so hopefully, by the end of May, a new version will be out with those features included.

    Thank you!

    Hi there,

That error is because the goals and current fields can’t be left blank, so you’ll need to put a number in the “Your Goal” and the “Current” field (can’t enter 0 must be at least a 1 in the “Current” field.

    These fields can't be empty.

Once you enter your goal and at least a number 1 in the “Current” field that error message will go away.

I’m going to address that error on the next version of the plugin so either you can’t leave it blank or at least it generates an error message that explains that clearly.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any more problems or questions with it. Thanks. Alan

Thanks, Miranda. I’m planning to add a couple new features soon, so I’ll have the coder take a look at your posting to fix those errors in the next version.

I just know enough to mess things up. ?? I did create a backup of the original code, just in case I messed it up, so I could paste it back in.

My website has a black background, so I needed to change the progress bar color. There are a few other “progress bar” plugins that I looked at and they make it easier to change colors, but your plugin is the best, nice and light without clutter. By the way, great job.

I’m not a designer/coder type, so I have no idea about custom CSS. I’ll look into that CSS plugin, thanks for the tip.
