In reply to: [NextCellent Gallery - NextGEN Legacy] Does this work with WP5.0?I switched back to NextGEN Gallery 2 years ago, it works fine. I use the free version in a combination with Justified Image Grid gallery, which is a good and affordable solution to display beautiful galleries.
You are welcome! After making a backup, you just have to deactivate NextCellent and activate NextGEN. It should work rightaway.

NextCellent is responsive as far as I know. I used it with thumbnails and it was responsive.
A year ago I switched back to NextGEN since that plugin gets regular updates. I know that there were problems with NextGEN years ago, but now it works perfectly fine.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Classic Editor] Settings missing on multisiteOhh, it is there, in the Network Settings. I didn’t know that I have to set it there. After enabling it I got the settings menu! Thank you!
You are welcome, @moonique
I don’t know about any image number limit, are you sure about that? I have around 2000 images on my site. The paid version has other advantages, which I don’t need. You can switch back and forth between the plugins, you can easily try it after making a backup. NextGEN is a regularly updated plugin, so there are no compatibility problems.I use it with Justified Image Grid, which works with nextCellent, too!- This reply was modified 6 years, 9 months ago by weigertj.
Hello, as I needed multisite support, I switched to the new nextGEN gallery, which is more regularly updated and it is still free. It’s compatible with nextCellent, I only had to disable nextCellent in the plugins menu and Enable nextGEN. My folders and images stayed. This might be a solution for you, too.

In reply to: [qTranslate X] Alternate Translations for Gutenberg? The installation of WP Multilang seems a bit complicated to me, hopefully it will be more user-friendly in the future. I also keep track of the new versions.
By the way, I forgot to mention Weglot, however the free version is quite limited.

In reply to: [qTranslate X] Alternate Translations for Gutenberg? You are welcome, jannik1953!
I used qTranslate X Cleanup and WPML Import for the migration of my website – this migration plugin works but it is not perfect. I had to manually correct a lot of things like URL slug translation, All in One Seo Data, menus, etc. It’s still faster than starting things from the scratch.
All in all one day was enough to totally rebuild my website, there wasn’t a single problem.
The only disadvantage that I have with WPML is that it is less comfortable to translate the alt text for my nextGEN Gallery images. It has a string translation plugin module, but I don’t use it as I cannot see the images with the translations, only text. However with string translation you can translate even themes and plugins.- This reply was modified 6 years, 10 months ago by weigertj.

In reply to: [qTranslate X] Alternate Translations for Gutenberg?Hello,
I switched to WPML, which is actively developed, however it is not a free plugin. Most of the themes are compatible with WPML, it is quite a good solution. I checked all the options and decided upon this. You might also check Polylang, WPGlobus, WP Multilang. WP Multilang is a new free plugin and you can migrate from qTranslate-X to it, they have a similar approach. It doesn’t have slug translation, yet, which is important for me.

In reply to: [qTranslate X] widgets no longer working please helpHi olliontheroad,
thanx for the widget tip, but I don’t use widgets at the moment in the multi language part of my site.
80% of the themes supports WPML, thus I think it is a good solution for those sticking to WordPress. WPML has 500,000 users.
A stand-alone site is a good solution, if you don’t have thousands of images and lots of blog posts. Unfortunately, my sites are quite complicated, thus a CMS is a good solution for me.Good luck to your new site!

In reply to: [qTranslate X] widgets no longer working please helpHello olliontheroad,
if you want to clean the database, the qTranslate X Cleanup and WPML Import plugin might work for you. At least the cleaning part worked for me, then I started to manually recreate the translated pages. I tried it about a year ago, though, it was a test only. At that time the WPML import didn’t work for me, hopefully next time it will work.
I am planning to migrate to WPML as qTranslate-X is not supported anymore and from WordPress 5.0 with the Gutenberg editor it won’t work at all!

In reply to: [NextCellent Gallery - NextGEN Legacy] Plugin Vanished from WP LibraryWe would like to know, should we migrate to another plugin? If the plugin is insecure, we need information and we act upon that. Of course we would like an update, but if we don’t get it, we need to move to another plugins.
