Yeah, I was just hoping that someone got an undeleted access log… The host where it happened isn’t a very helpful one, so I can’t expect anything from them. This hack is easy to fix, but I’m just curious how they got in.

Never mind. I’m using this plugin now Batch Category Import

Everything is well explained and very simple to use. Took me only 1 minute to make a list and import the categories. Excellent plugin!

I could fix it (for now) by just replacing the overwritten index.php files with the original ones. I installed 3.7.1 again and checked all the other index.php files if the code was gone. I was quite easy to find them because all changes were on the same date/time.

I think the hacker deletes part of the access log file, since you also didn’t have records.
This IP address was used btw 84.240.30.56, but probably doesn’t say much.

Latest version, but I think it has something to do with Indonesian. Recently though, because some weeks ago Simple Tags stopped working while it worked before.

Heard rumors that the plugin maker died 3 months ago, so I don’t think we have to wait for an answer from him. Searching for alternatives now…

Exactly the same here. Two (or three) searches only and my layout was f*cked up. Everywhere there are code tags, especially on the single.php and search.php pages. Luckily I made a database backup although it too large to put back and I have to figure out how to fix that.

So much time wasted.

I can also confirm that the categories in the widget are not working. In the backend it works well.

Filling in the category ID will cause ‘Sorry. No data so far.’

It should be, but it’s easy to test. Just install it for a couple of days and see if there are any differences in bounce rate or Page On Time stats in Analytics.
