I don’t switch between the two. Even if I start off with the visual editor and never go into html view the published post will display one solid block of text. This happened about a year ago, the whole blog was affected and it took me weeks to go through every single post and put in html tags. I have changed themes, updated, tried different pugins, all to no avail.

I am having the same problem, made worse as I can’t use the visual editor. It strips away code and the post appears as one long block of text.

Only workaround I have found is to use Blogdesk, save the source and paste into HTML view.
