Come on WordPress get your act together. The newfangled “block” widgets totally broke the Widget tool on my NEW WordPress site.

Please fix this and don’t release stuff that’s not ready for prime time. We do not want to be your guinea pigs with live sites that belong to our customers!!

I TOTALLY agree here. What if we want to create two Reusable blocks (Media + text) with identical image/text ratios? How can we do that? How can we see the image size? This is totally random and there is no proper control. Also, editing / creating a Reusable Block (a great asset) is so unnecessarily difficult. As Walton says, you have to “create” it about 6 times, “trying” this and that each time. Waaay too time consuming.

And it’s SO clunky and difficult to get text to flow nicely around an image. This really needs to be addressed.

I’m having the same problem and just upgraded to PHP 5.6, which is what some older WP threads were saying was the issue. This is a great plugin and it saved my life restoring a site. PLease fix it!!!

If it can only display ONE of these at a time, that should be in the description then. Otherwise we will drive ourselves CRAZY trying to figure out why these things don’t work and we will think WE have done something wrong!!! (I think I’ve just done that for a whole day)

Because theoretically you should be able to put two “widgets” in one “widgetized area” yes? or no…

Please update the description if that’s the case.

Also I have another problem. My slider has ugly grey scroll bars, both vertical and horizontal. I put big values in for Max width and height just to test, so there should be no scroll bars.

Also, I have changed the border of the thumbnail to 0 and also set to the color to white which is the color of the page. There is STILL a black border around all the images.

I need to add my 2 cents here. The spandy new image editor is really a step backwards. WordPress please LISTEN to your customers and bring back the ability to create padding around images (and borders). This is such a simple thing and it should really be there. Most people don’t want to be messing around with style sheets. And for those of us that have lots of different sites with lots of different themes, this is a real pain.

How could such an obviously useful thing be eliminated? What problems was it causing?

I should add my WP install is – and always has been – in a sub directory.
So may try moving an index file around but wonder why this suddenly started happening after an update.

I don’t think this has been resolved. There are a lot of people reporting it. I am getting it each time I update any of my plugins or themes. I think it started after an update of 3.8X platform. My error occurred here: wp-admin/includes/file.php on line 871 Although it seems to occur in different files for different people.

Just wanted to say that my issue was resolved w/ the interventions of the WP Girl who discovered that somehow (in the process of trying to enter a new site name in the interface?) I had caused a bogus URL to be entered into my database. So she fixed everything! Then she gave me the most concise, excellent directions for pointing my domain to the WP installation in a sub-directory (in this case NOT MOVING WordPress but just “pointing” to it). I seem to have done the same thing as Charles 599. I tried to change the URL in the Admin settings (but not move any files) and now I can’t access wp-admin. I can see the pages in the subdirectory but no CSS is applied to them.
Do you know how Charles fixed his to see the dashboard once again and fix the path to CSS??
