Disregard. Dummy here forgot about sidebar.php being in the site files and the things I had going on in there. As soon as I removed that, Viola! All is well.

Same problem here running XAMPP. It appears as if there’s a problem because the “domain” of “localhost” causes problems with detecting the domain extension, as there is none. I’m reluctant to mod the plugin code, but it would be nice to have a fix in place to allow for extension-less domains and this plugin.

Solved: I needed to register $wpdb global just like $index_today. Duh.

I don’t have a site of much importance running with this, but I disabled the plugin and things work fine now. It’s on DreamHost’s basic shared plan.

My site uses a Headway Themes theme that I configured. While I’m not doing anything with Headway anymore, the site worked fine and lets my client do what they wanted to do. I wonder if Headway or the theme has anything to do with the garbage being output.

What theme are you using? Custom? Purchased? Part of a framework or stand-alone?
