Greetings, Tsetan, and thank you for responding! Great timing as I solved the problem this morning–I could blame it on the instructions in Step 4, but I might be rebutted about that.
From what I gathered in the instructions, I was suppose to enter localhost:8888/htdocs but try as I mentioned, I didn’t get anywhere. I finally tried just leaving out the port number and *shazaam!*, it worked! Strangely enough, after the installation process, I have use the port number when I run WordPress:
https://localhost:8888/wp-admin/
Regrettably, I don’t have networking smarts so I can’t explain how or why I was able to launch the installation file without using the port number. : S
