Sorry for the delay in this issue.
Can you send me another diagnostic as I cant find the one from before? Most likely because of the time that has gone by.
Sorry again.
Hi @codlet and thanks for posting about this.
As per forum guidelines below, could you please open your own topic and we would be glad to assist you:
“Unless users have the exact same version of WordPress on the same physical server hosted by the same hosts with the same plugins, theme, and configurations, then the odds are the solution for one user will not be the same for another. For this reason, we recommend people start their own topics.”Thanks again!
Hello @webby1973 and thanks for reaching out to us!
The server time looks to be correct to me. Sometimes being off by a second can cause issues but it should be more random than constant.
Can you send a diagnostic report to wftest @ wordfence . com? You can find the link to do so at the top of the Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics page. Then click on “Send Report by Email”. Please add your forum username where indicated and respond here after you have sent it.
NOTE: It should look as follows – Screenshot of Tools > Diagnostic > Send by Email

Hello @merkucio and thanks for reaching out to us!
It definitely sounds like the IP configuration was the issue but a diagnostic might help me see what is wrong.

Also, are you seeing any browser console errors when you attempt to log in on 7.6.2? If so, could you share those as well?
Thanks again!
Hello @abolfazl86 and thanks for reaching out to us!
It looks like the file paths in that are using the old camel casing that we switched away from a while ago. The tables might of been damaged in the update.
A complete re-install of Wordfence might be a good step. It’s always best to make a backup of the site and database before installing/removing plugins, just to be safe.
Additionally, you can back up your Wordfence settings via the Export option. Navigate to Wordfence > Tools > Import/Export Options and click Export. You can also take note of the current Whitelisted URLs you have in Wordfence > Firewall > All Firewall Options > Whitelisted URLs as these are NOT included in the Import/Export, and will be lost during the re-install.
Here is what is exported: https://www.wordfence.com/help/tools/import-export/
During the export, you will be given a long string of text. Keep this safe, you’ll need it in a few minutes. After that, enable the option to Delete Wordfence tables and data on deactivation in All Options > General Wordfence Options. You will want to remember to disable this after you reinstall Wordfence again.
After you enable that option, you can deactivate Wordfence from the Plugins area of your site, then delete it. Next, from the plugins area, search for and re-install Wordfence like normal.
It will be like setting Wordfence up for the first time. You will need to enter an email address, and then go into Tools > Import/Export Options and paste that string of text into the Import Wordfence Options field and click the button there.
The firewall will be in Learning Mode by default for 7 days. I would recommend switching this to Enabled and Protected as soon as possible.
Let me know how this goes!
Thanks again.
Hello @nekojonez and thanks for reaching out to us!
Thanks for the feedback! I have passed this information on to our Dev/QA team for review.
We appreciate it!
Sorry for the late reply. I never got notified that you replied.
I am glad that you were able to resolve it. I will remember to suggest a reboot for other users in the future as well.
Thanks again!

Unfortunately, it is not possible to change the wordage on those messages.

If you wouldn’t mind sending the diagnostic one more time? I have bookmarked your thread so I can check it manually.
Thanks again!
Sorry for the late reply.
The only way to know if it will work is to test it. Some themes use the correct hooks and some use custom hooks.
Thanks again!
Still not getting it. I wonder if the wp_mail on your site is working properly.
Could you Export the file to a .txt and attach it to an email to the same address? Just make the subject line your username and I should be able to locate it.
Thanks again!
Hello @oceu and thanks for reaching out to us!
We appreciate the extensive list of feature suggestions and I completely agree with you on these. I have passed them along to our Dev/QA team for review and I hope we are able to add these features in the future.
As for current solutions you could look at. I have had experience with “Member” and “MemberPress” in the past. They don’t offer much security but can help you limit some of the things you mentioned.
Thanks again for the feedback! We appreciate it.
Hello @tuxwp and thanks for reaching out to us!
Do you have multiple sites on this server and wish to issue a server-wide block with these IPs?
Having Wordfence installed on all the sites would be the easiest way to prevent those IPs from targeting the site again.
I just want to make sure I understand correctly.
Thanks again!
Hello @jesrusling and thanks for reaching out to us!
I’m happy to provide you with instructions on how to get back into your site. Follow these steps:
- Please use FTP/SFTP — or any file manager your web host provides via their administration panel.
- Look inside the /wp-content/plugins/ directory and rename the wordfence directory to wordfence.bak.
- Once you have logged in to your WordPress admin you can name the folder back to wordfence again.
- Refresh your dashboard and you should be able to see Wordfence Active again. If not, go to the Plugins page and Activate it.
If you are not receiving emails, the unlock emails actually come from your website and not our servers. If you aren’t getting emails then you might want to check:
- The emails (they come from [email protected]) are getting sent to your junk mail folder by your email client or provider. Make sure and whitelist or add your website to the list of safe domains so you get emails consistently.
- Your web server is having a problem with the email software on it. This isn’t like regular emails you send and receive, but rather server alert messages. Usually, a restart of postfix or sendmail (whichever is installed) can fix it. Your hosting provider may need to help with this.
- Your hosting provider has disabled SMTP from the server for some reason like preventing the server from being used to spam people.
- You have a third party plugin for sending emails with another service, like Gmail, which isn’t working. Reaching out to the plugin author for support can help.
Once you get logged in, if you could send me a diagnostic, I can try to see why you might have been blocked in the first place.
