In reply to: Why are images being rotated? From what I read, still not sure of what’s going wrong… but it brings up another question… What to do about it?

In reply to: Why are images being rotated? Not to my knowledge. That’s kind of what I’m trying to figure out – why they’re being rotated, so I can find a fix.

In reply to: Featured Image Not Showing in 3.5Here’s an example of a page with the broken image links mentioned above.

If I can figure out where the loop is that generates the beginning of the posts, then maybe that would help.

In reply to: Featured Image Not Showing in 3.5Am sorry. You are right. I just researched it, and I should have been more specific.
Here’s what’s happening.
The image links are coming out like this:
But the actual address to the desired images is:
In other words, for some reason the code that generates the HTML is adding in:
/gallery/the-basilica-of-the-shrine-of-the-immaculate-conception/
I dont know where to locate this erroneous php code, and, even if I could find it, I’m not sure of how to fix it.
Can anyone make any recommendations please?
I want me blog back. ??

In reply to: featured image not showingWell, I just checked, and the images are still there. That said, when I look at the “Edit Post” page, only the title (not the pic) shows up, which isn’t how it used to work. It used to show the pic.
As per what I did – I installed a bunch of stuff – perhaps too much to isolate what the problem may have been, but I tried the following plugins…
You tube Carousel Gallery
Column-matic
Featured Posts Grid
Genesis Bootstrap Carousel
Jetpack by WordPress.comI fiddled around with them a bit, but I can’t tell which of them may have caused the unwanted change. I deactivated and uninstalled all of them.
I just want to get the blog back like it was right now.

In reply to: Reorganizing My Blog… Somehow…Theme = https://themesurface.com/
Yeah, I guess I hadn’t realized it, but it is pretty broad…
I was thinking it would be cool to do something similar to a NextGen gallery, except for “Favorite Pages”, if such a plugin were available.
I know plugins for “Most Visited” posts are available, but I’m looking more for a “Favorites”, which I could have more control over.
The NextGen galleries idea is still cool. What I’m thinking would almost be like a gallery for each post, with albums of *webpages* (not just images) being the “Favorites” linked to at the head of each category.
I hope that makes some sense. It would make things really flexible if I could find a plugin to handle such a feat.

In reply to: Missing Comments FieldIt’s working now… although why is a mystery…
All I did was switch the avatars on the Settings>disussion page from mystery man to blank… which had nothing to do with the comment field at all…

In reply to: Missing Comments FieldIn the old posts the comments field shows up, but not in the new ones…
Hmmm… still investigating what you said though… trying to turn comments on in the more recent posts…

In reply to: All Setup… Now – where's the traffic?Promotion.
I think that is the question, and I agree with your approach. SEO isn’t really the answer. I am also not a FB, Twitter, or G+ user (not yet anyway).
I setup a blog, and then joined an independent site for related content, where they have forums and the possibility of user-created groups. I can add in a blog link, but I don’t want to do that yet. I was thinking it would be better to start a user-created group, and then test the waters there to look for meaningful traffic before promoting the blog. In the meantime, I’m generating content, which I will disburse when I know my audience better.
But – with respect to the user-created group – it only puts the question back at square one.
The site has tons of user-created groups. I’ve found some openings for types of groups they don’t have, so I could set up shop and fill a need. But I’m still kind of stuck on how to get an unknown group (and, hence, eventually my blog) populated.
Any thoughts?

In reply to: How to allow people to subscribe?Thank you WpT777!
Just a quick follow up question… Does the plugin do anything better or worse than the service?
I mean, the plugin is free, so why use the service?
Thank you again!

In reply to: Totally FrustratedSnowberry is the theme.
The “template” is one I tried to create myself called page-advertising.php, but it doesn’t show up in WordPress as a template. It’s still just listed as showcase.

In reply to: Totally FrustratedThank you for the links to the other galleries, but I dont think GoodGallery was the problem.

Thanks,

In reply to: Different Pages, Different Templates?Am kind of new to WP, and not very good at programming, so I hope I am not going to ask too many questions. But…
I can do use WP to create a page with title and contents, but when I create page-{slug}.php
1.) Where do I place it in the directory?
2.) I’m not sure of how to name a “page-{slug}.php”. I don’t suppose a blank page with no code on it would work. Maybe it would, but…? My thought is I would like download another template or theme, and then title it page-{slug}.php. Then there’s still the question of where to place it.
Thank you for all your help!
