  • or just change it. it might also say something like “font color=”#D81061”. if you see the one with the “#”, change the number code after it to “#000000”.

GeekChick, did you install WP yourself over the server, or did you use GoDaddy’s WP installer? I would recommend using GoDaddy’s installer (you have to have a linux hosting account), and then just use the FTP client to move your files over.

you’d have to upload any picture files to your server….and cut and paste the code for the page in the “HTML” section of the static page in WordPress. It’s a little bit difficult if you’re not familiar with WP.

Yep, it sure is. There is a way that you can manually go and edit the code for static pages. In your dashboard, go to Settings –> Reading. It will have a whole bunch of options, but what you’re looking for is the “Front page displays” section. It gives you the option to choose a static page, or a blog post. If you click on the hyperlink that says “static page” then you’ll be taken to a list of static pages. You should only have one right now…it’s the “about” page. You can add as many as you would like though. Hope this helps.

Awesome! Congrats Fusilierb. Feel free to post again if you need anymore help. ??

It all depends on how your setting it up. Are you putting it on your own domain and paying for hosting yourself, or are you starting up a blog in a site like WordPress.com? If the domain is owned by someone else, chances are you probably won’t be able to put up adult content. Check the terms and agreement of that site to see if adult content is accepted. If you’re buying your own domain and setting up the blog on your own domain, make sure that your hosting provider allows you to publish adult content.

Can you post the link to it so I can take a look? ??

Double check to make sure you have the correct settings for your comments in your dashboard.

    Login to your dashboard
    click on “settings”
    then click “discussion”

make sure that your comments are not being held in the “moderation queue”.
if they are, then you’ll need to approve them before they’ll show up on the blog.

Also, under the “before a comment appears” section, make sure that “Before a comment appears An administrator must always approve the comment” and “Comment author must have a previously approved comment” are NOT checked. Then you should be able to see the comments on the blog. Keep in mind though, this is to protect you from spam, and I would strongly recommend NOT just allowing anyone to post comments. ?? Hope this helps.

Both Quick Adsense and All in One Adsense and YPN administration are under the same menu. I think it’s under Settings -> Adsense

    Yeps! There’s a fix for everything. ??

Haagendazs1 I’ve been looking for a way to do queries in WP, and it seems like you have a great solution. Do you know of any other plug-ins that do this so I don’t have to write any code? I’m not super familiar with PHP yet to do it. I’m looking to create a site kind of like Blurtit.com or Answers.com. Any suggestions?

I think it would be cool to have movie themes. I was looking for an Avatar one (which is still really popular right now) and couldn’t find one. ??

I agree with ClaytonJames. Sometimes Tech Support reps tell you stuff just to get a sale (i.e. you paying them to re-install WP). They tell you this, but re-installing is not necessary if the theme is broken. As he mentioned, just delete the theme and either reinstall it, or get a new one that works. You can backup all of your data onto a flash drive or your computer before you make any changes via the FTP client.

*Log into your GoDaddy hosting account
*scroll down to where it says “content” and expand it
*the FTP client is in there. You can move your files from the server (on the right) to your computer (on the left) by selecting your wordpress folder, and clicking the little arrows.
*once you’ve done that, goto “my applications”
*click on the domain that has WP installed and get the installation details
*it will then allow you to uninstall it
    *then reinstall it again

if you have any trouble doing this, the GoDaddy support pages should be of some help or call them back up. They’re great people.

Yeah, it does look great! I would suggest limiting the amount of pictures you use though. From a sales psychology perspective, people tend to be more attracted to pictures than text. It’s possible that a lot of your visitors are getting distracted and can’t really focus on what you’re SAYING as opposed to what pictures they’re SEEING. Try making the images a little smaller and increasing the text size. I would also make the content column a little wider so that visitors know that this is the main focus of the page. As SimplyMother suggested, it is hard to tell where the content is at first because all of the columns are similar in width. The advantage of using WordPress is that you can activate a different layout without losing your posts. Try finding a layout that is a little more visitor friendly, like this one: Gemini Star Signs. Hope this helps.

Sometimes CSS just doesn’t do what you want it to. I’ve been through that so many times. ?? It’s funny, because I had to resort to tables as well. Had issues with a 3 column template, but the columns would never be even- one would always be shorter than the other two or vice versa. Thank goodness for basic HTML.
