Steve, you are great in responsiveness. Sorry I have been out to lunch, and rather busy trying to launch the new site. I did not try your latest version on the site in the subdirectory. There was too much going on. But, it works like a miracle in the root directory where I finally upgraded and configured. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Yes. It is in subdirectory but it won’t be in a subdirectory when it is finished. Right now it is in /staging but will be moved to the root. I am hoping then, that when I do move it I can quickly configure your plug-in and my pages to work properly. I just hate to wait to see if it works until its that late but seems like there’s no way around that. How much would you charge me to be on call that night?! ??

Thank you for your quick replies. I changed my cpanel config to use php5 to process php. I am no longer getting parse errors.

I am using WP 3.1.0. I am using Permalink Editor 0.2.6.

I do have a 404 error issue that I will post separately if I can’t find an answer already in the forum.

I don’t think that Markthedude is trying to delete a widget. I think he is, like I, trying to remove the link to www.ads-software.com in the meta widget. Is anybody out there….?

This code is not in the most recent version of widgets.php.

I posted too soon. My .htaccess file was not writable, so when I changed the permalink structure WP could not automatically update the .htaccess file. There was a little warning message at the bottom of the page with the code that ought to have been inserted into .htaccess but I did not see it in my zeal. Now, I’ve seen it and I hope my idiocy and realization is your gain.

What would have happened? Someone on the host side change that file?

There has to be a better way. If one were to approach a host, what would she ask them to do to make the google able to connect securely?

My import is failing through the rss import tool in the dashboard. 1.8 MB file should go, looks like it has (get the “Have Fun” message), but no data imported.

What ID? Where do I find the ID? I am putting this in the sidebar–do I need a different side bar template for each parent page–ID? where I want to show this kind of menu?
