In reply to: Can I have two blog pages on the same WP site? Thanks Tasko — unfortunately, I’m new enough at WP that I’m not sure what that means. I know what Categories are for posts, and thought archives were generated automatically to “store” excess posts chronologically. But I’m not sure how that works with a page instead of posts.

In reply to: New "Users" Registering Themselves on My Blog?Bemdesign — thank you for that Settings info. “Anyone can register” was checked, but I have unchecked it. Thank you!
Modernart1 — I’ve read about the Akismet app but didn’t want to spend the money. But if you’ve had good success with it I’ll go ahead and give it a try. Thank you for that recommendation!

In reply to: Parent-Child Page Relationship QuestionThank you, Bryan!
Using the # in the “Link” space made the page go nowhere when clicked, which is what I wanted. Now it is just a header in the menu for the sub-pages beneath.
Thanks very much,

In reply to: Parent-Child Page Relationship QuestionThanks for the lead — watched the video but couldn’t figure out (after numerous tries) how to apply the instructions to my parent page menu items. I’ll keep working on it.

In reply to: Turning Comments On/Off on a Blog PageThanks, esmi — I’ll do that in the future. The site is https://www.basileiaproductions.com , and the BLOG page link is in the menu bar.
AND . . . I just proved that I’m a WP rookie. I went to the BLOG page on my site and entered a dummy test post and, voila, the comments link and comments apparatus appeared when I posted that test post.
That’s confusing to me because on some of my other static pages, until I turned “Allow Comments” OFF in the QuickEdit window, there was a COMMENTS apparatus on those pages even before I had ever entered any content. Not sure why it’s different on the BLOG page. But, at least I have the comments ability on the BLOG page, so all’s good.
Thanks for instigating that research.

In reply to: How to turn comments OFF on PAGES only? Thanks, Senff, for the instructions, but as kmcminn said, that’s above my pay grade. ??
kmcminn, thanks for the directions. I must have looked at the Quick Edit screen 50 times last night, knowing the command was somewhere on the Dashboard, but just didn’t see it. I found the “comments off” checkbox for each page and turned them off. Thanks for the direction!
