…. the problem was with Yoast SEO plug-in, it added og:image tags to my pages, which stopped the pinterest service from working …. so if you are having problems do a find for ‘og:image’ in your source code and it will tell you what is causing the problem (that is how i found out Yoast was the culprit)
i have actually switched to ‘share this‘ plug-in, as it offers a more complete social share and it is working well
